    • A twin clutch transmission for a large horsepower vehicle having a compact size and a high transmission efficiency is obtained.
      In a twin clutch transmission, there are provided an input shaft, an odd-numbered level speed change mechanism 30, an even-numbered level speed change mechanism 60, a synchronizing speed change mechanism 100, and an output mechanism 90. The speed change mechanisms 30 and 60 include transmission gear trains 32 and 62, main clutches 34 and 64 for selectively transmitting the powers of the transmission gear trains 32 and 62 to the transmission shafts 40 and 70. The synchronizing speed change mechanism 100 includes synchronizing gear trains 110 and 120 for coupling the rotation of the odd-numbered level transmission shaft 32 with the rotation of the even-numbered level transmission shaft 62, and synchronizing clutches 112 and 122 for selecting coupling by this synchronizing gear train.

    • The purpose of the present invention is to provide a twin type clutch transmission of simple structure that permits a quick shifting of a mechanical clutch without shock even in the case of a transmission for a large-sized vehicle.
      The numbers of gear teeth of the speed-change gears 31, 33, 35, and 37 of odd-numbered gear range and the speed-change gears 32, 34, 36, and 38 of even-numbered gear range, which, in common, mesh with the same one transmission output gear correspondingly assigned from among the transmission output gears 41 to 44, are made to be identical each other on such same transmission output gear meshing therewith; the gear ratios of the input gear trains of even-numbered gear range and the input gear trains of odd-numbered gear range are configured so that the ratios of the speed-change ratio between the adjoining gear ranges will form terms in a geometric progression; and the ratios of the gear ratios between the speed-change gear of odd-numbered gear range and the speed-change gear of the even-numbered gear range that mesh severally and correspondingly with the adjoining transmission output gears 41 to 44 are configured to be proportional to the square of the common ratio. In the speed-changing between the speed-change gear of odd-numbered gear range and the speed-change gear of odd-numbered gear range, the intermediate shaft 5 or 6 on which the speed-change gear of the gear-shifting destination is installed is coupled with the input shaft 3 through the friction clutch, and the speeds of revolutions of the speed-change gear of the gear-shifting destination and the intermediate shaft 5 or 6 on which such speed-change gear is installed are brought into the synchronized state.
