    • In a two-stroke internal combustion engine with a crank slide mechanism and a plurality of working cylinders (11, 12), which have bases and are divided by a piston into a lower and an upper cylinder chamber, the lower cylinder chamber being used substantially for compression and the upper cylinder chamber (41, 42) being used substantially for combustion, storage cylinders are provided which can adjoin cavities (28) such as working cylinders of the engine and processing chambers, such that each adjoining cavity has at least one closeable inlet opening (33) through which an air-fuel mixture, for example, can flow from the storage cylinder into the cavity and at least one closeable outlet opening (31) through which the mixture can flow out of the cavity into the storage chamber (28). The storage chamber (28) is charged by the lower cylinder chambers (11, 12, 41, 42) with the air-fuel mixture and the mixture is fed as necessary to the upper cylinder chambers for combustion, or the mixture is conveyed out of the lower cylinder chambers into given compartments in the storage cylinder and from there is fed to the processing chambers for processing. After processing, the mixture is fed back to given compartments of the storage cylinder and then fed to the upper cylinder chambers for combustion. The storage cylinder enables losses by circulation to be avoided since the air-fuel mixture is not introduced at bottom dead centre of the pistons but during the compression stroke, i.e. when the outlet slot is closed.

    • The present invention relates to internal combustion engines, particularly to a reciprocating piston type internal combustion engine with a crank and multiple circular slide blocks, formed by substituting connecting rods with circular slide blocks. The engine comprises a crank-and-circular slide block mechanism including a cylinder body, pistons, circular slide blocks, a crankshaft and the like. In the cylinder body, there is a sliding track in which there is a dynamic balance sliding piece. There are at least three circular slide blocks connected into an integral, with the phase difference of the adjacent circular slide blocks being 180°, and the circular slide blocks being rotably received in the pistons or the dynamic balance sliding piece and all being sleeved on the same crank pin. The engine of the present invention has excellent dynamic balanceability and compact configuration; and compared with existing engines of the same type, its size and weight are 30-50% and the man-hour for manufacture is 50-60%, and 70% of the parts are commonly used ones, it is reliable in operation, has long service life and low energy-consumption.

    • An internal combustion engine comprises two cylinder blocks (2), each defining one or more cylinders (4), each cylinder in each cylinder block reciprocably accommodating a piston (6) and being opposed to a cylinder in the other cylinder block. The two cylinder blocks (2) are connected together with the interposition of two or more crankcase structures (18, 20) and define between them a space in which a crankshaft (12) is rotatably supported by at least two main bearings (26) which are at least partially supported by the crankcase structures (18, 20). Each opposed pair of pistons (6) is rigidly connected by two walls (8) which afford respective apertures and which define between them a space. Each opposed pair of pistons is connected to two cranks (16) of the crankshaft (12) by two sliders (14) which are accommodated in a respective one of the said apertures and are mounted to slide with respect to the associated wall (8) only in the direction transverse of its reciprocal movement and which define an opening in which a respective one of the cranks (16) is rotatably received. A main crankshaft bearing (26) is supported in the said space between the two walls (8).
