For example, such a controller may call for operation of one exhaust valve to provide exhaust to a single exhaust turbine and call for operation of two exhaust valves to provide exhaust to two exhaust turbines. Various other exemplary methods, devices, systems, etc., are also disclosed.

The first intake valve (15a) is configured so that an opening timing of the first intake valve (15a) is advanced relative to an opening timing of the second intake valve (15b). The fuel injection control unit (65) is configured to perform fuel injection by the first fuel injection valve (19a) in advance of injection timing of the second fuel injection valve (19b).

An intake pipe (12) and an EGR pipe (27) are connected to the reforming air cylinder (16) via a supply pipe (25), and the reforming air cylinder is provided with a primary fuel injection device (20), which is connected to the intake pipe (12) via an exhaust pipe (28), and injects fuel into the mixed gas of intake air and exhaust air supplied to the reforming air cylinder (16) through the supply pipe (25).
