Said device comprises an essentially closed housing which consists of two halves (7, 8) that can be joined together and has openings through which the drive chain (2) is able to pass, and brushes (9) positioned inside the housing for wiping the drive chain (2). For simple and effective cleaning, nozzles (10) are positioned inside the housing, which nozzles are directed towards the drive chain (2) and are connected to attachments on the outside of the housing. The result is continuous lubrication of the chain without any pollution of the environment and without any risk of parts which should not be lubricated becoming oily.
