    • A machine (10) for slitting a metal sheet (12) has a number of knife holder assemblies (56) each containing a rotary knife (58). The knife holder assemblies (56) are mounted for movement along upper and lower rotating shafts (44, 46) which rotate the knives (58) during a slitting operation. The position of the knife holder assemblies (56) is programmably controlled for efficient and accurate positioning and adjustment of the knives (58) along the rotating shafts (44, 46) for a variety of slitting configurations. Additionally, each of the upper and lower drive shafts (44, 46) contains a pair of drive shaft sections (74) that are normally connected together during operation and can be disconnected for servicing of the knife holder assemblies (56) on the shafts (44, 46). The slitting machine (10) includes upper and lower frames (26, 28) that are movable relative to each other by adjustment of a pair of jack screws (86) to slit metal sheets (12) of differing thicknesses without labor intensive adjustment or reconfiguration of the machine (10).

    • A perforator has a perforating disk (10) rotatively mounted in an U-shaped support (13).     • The invention relates to a cutting device for wood or other materials, comprising a saw blade clamping device for fixing circular saw blades radially and/or axially, said circular saw blades being mounted on a drive shaft in such a way that they can be moved axially. According to the invention, axially moveable individual carrying bodies are provided on said drive shaft (1) for at least one circular saw blade, e.g. (2a). Said circular saw blades, e.g. (2a) are moved axially by means of conveying spindles, e.g. (7) which run parallel to the drive shaft axle and penetrate said carrying bodies, e.g. (3). At least one clamping element (21) is positioned in the drive shaft (20). The campling element (21) is arranged so that it is radially movable. In the first stage, the circular saw blades, e.g. (2a) positioned on the carrying bodies (3) are moved by means of the clamping element (21). In the second stage, the circular saw blades, e.g. (2a) or carrying bodies e.g. (3) are connected to the motor shaft in such a way that they have a positive and/or nonpositive fit. The inventive device enables the width of the saw cut to be adjusted without the saw blades having to be disassembled, such disassembly being time and labour consuming. The carrying bodies for the circular saw blades are narrower than conventional moving heads for multiple-blade circular saws, with the result that a larger number of circular saw blades can be mounted on one axle.
