摘要： In various embodiments, a surgical console may include a pneumatic valve to drive a pneumatic tool coupled to the surgical console. The console may further include a controller operable to control and adjust the valve open/close cycle times according to a valve duty cycle. The valve may switch between ports (valve open time for a first port and valve close time for a second port) such that a total valve time may approximately equal the valve open time plus the valve close time. The valve duty cycle may indicate a percentage of the total valve time for the controller to signal the valve to open and may include an adjustment that corresponds to a signal timing of the open and/or closed valve positions that will result in open and closed operating pressures above a predetermined threshold.

摘要： A system for providing pneumatic power to a vitrector includes first (A) and second (B) output ports, an output valve (210), an isolation valve, and three manifolds. The first and second output ports provide pressurized gas to power a vitrector. The output valve alternately provides pressurized gas to the first and second output ports. The isolation valve (205) provides pressurized gas to the output valve. Two manifolds fluidly connect the output valve to the first and second output ports. A third manifold (255) fluidly connects the isolation valve to the output valve. When the isolation valve provides pressurized gas to the output valve, the output valve operates at a high rate of speed to alternately provide pressurized gas to the first and second output ports thereby powering the vitrector.

摘要： A press for forming a workpiece (27) with a tool set includes an actuator assembly carrying a movable half or punch (14) of the tooling set and having a two phase operation. In the first phase the actuator provides relatively low force in moving the punch (14) to an intermediate position in close proximity to the workpiece (27). A sensor (25) detects the position of the punch (14), and when the punch (14) reaches the intermediate position provides a continue signal. The second phase of actuator operation is conditioned on occurrence of the continue signal, and uses normal high force to press the movable tooling half (14) against the workpiece (27) to complete the operation. The low force first phase allows obstructions of any kind to stop movement of the punch during the first phase before high force applied to the actuator may cause damage or injury to the obstruction. In a preferred embodiment, the actuator assembly has hydraulic operation.
