    • A food slicer is provided having a support member including a base portion and an upstanding portion integrally formed with the base portion. The upstanding portion includes a rotating cutting blade secured thereto for slicing food product and at least one motor positioned within the upstanding portion for rotating the cutting blade. The base portion includes a food product table slidably secured thereto and is movable across the cutting blade for holding product while it is being sliced by the cutting blade. An adjustable gage plate also is provided for determining the thickness of a food product to be sliced by the cutting blade. A sharpening mechanism for sharpening the cutting blade as needed is included, the sharpening mechanism being removably secured to a portion of the product table to provide accurate sharpening of the cutting blade. The sharpening mechanism also including a first rotating sharpening member and a second deburring member where the first and second members are mounted independent from each other.

    • A computer controlled all-in-one reel mower sharpener and roller alignment system can be rolled under a mower to be conditioned. No removal of the cutting unit id needed. A linear voltage displacement transducer (LVDT 715 or a mechanical dial indicator 7155; alternatively a friction wheel 7150 with a rotary encoder 7151 may be used, or any combination of sensors 715, 7155, 7151) or equivalent instructs the machinist how to align the front and rear rollers in parallel. A laser scanner or probe determines the location for the cutter, and then the machining head sharpens each blade automatically. A separate cutter sharpens the bed knife. Most all mowers can be conditioned based on the laser or probe calibration of the blade size. The laser or probe measures the height of cut by sensing the blade location.

    • Arrangement for a cutting device which comprises a circular cutting blade (32) which is preferably mounted so that it can rotate freely and is supported so that it can be displaced across a web (5A) of material which it is desired to cut, consisting, for example, of a paper web which can be fed out from a roll (5), this circular cutting blade (32) being partially accommodated in a tubular acommodating member (33) which is equipped with a slit and extends across the web of material. The invention makes it possible to make the circular blade rotate and be sharpened effectively as it is being displaced across the material web, without any component requiring adjustment or replacement to achieve this. The accommodating member (33) is spring-loaded to make it rotate towards the circular blade (32), causing it to rest against and co-act with the latter via a metal part (34A) so that as the circular blade (32) is displaced along the accommodating member (33) with the said close contact it is made to rotate, while simultaneously being sharpened against the said metal part (34A).
