    • The invention relates to a device (10) for controlling the road speed of a motor vehicle. Said device comprises an accelerator pedal (12) which is preloaded into a normal position against the direction of actuation and can be moved from the normal position into a neutral position. A further displacement of the accelerator pedal (12) from said neutral position against the spring-load brings about an increase in the drive torque of the motor vehicle drive mechanism. A device for detecting the normal position of the accelerator pedal (12) is connected to a brake force generator (40) and when the accelerator pedal (12) is in the normal position causes the brake force generator (40) to make available a predetermined brake force. The aim of the invention is to create a more comfortable device (10) of this kind. To this end an alternative brake force generator (40) is provided for which builds up the predetermined brake force in a controlled manner when the accelerator pedal (12) reaches its normal position and/or reduces said built-up brake force in a controlled manner when the accelerator pedal (12) leaves its normal position. According to a further alternative embodiment, when the accelerator pedal (12) is moved from the normal position into the neutral position the device for recognizing the normal position of the accelerator pedal (12) causes the brake force generator (40) to reduce or build up the predetermined brake force in accordance with the movement of the accelerator pedal.

    • An electric autobrake interlock system for an aircraft includes an autobrake power interlock mechanism that prevents inadvertent (uncommanded) application of brakes. The autobrake power interlock removes operating power from the brake actuators whenever the autobrake actuation data does not indicate a legitimate autobrake application condition. The interlock processing occurs in parallel with the autobrake command processing such that even if an inadvertent autobrake command is generated, the brake actuators will be unable to act upon the inadvertent autobrake command. In this regard, the brake actuators are unable to apply brakes automatically unless the following two actions happen concurrently: the operating power is provided to enable the electric brake actuators and autobrake actuation control is commanded in response to the legitimate autobrake application condition.
