摘要： Embodiments are provided for determining and managing an inventory. The position of an object in an inventory may be determined by utilizing an interrogator to send multiple request signals to a tag attached to the object. Each of the request signals may be communicated by the interrogator at a different frequency. The interrogator may then receive multiple reply signals from the tag. The interrogator may then determine the position of the tag (and thus the object) along a transmission line from phase measurements of the reply signals. A dispenser inventory may be managed. The dispenser may identify an ingredient packaging to be inserted into an ingredient matrix of the dispenser. The dispenser may then receive a user input of a location within the ingredient matrix where the identified ingredient packaging has been inserted.

The method of vending a hot beverage using a beverage vending apparatus; said apparatus comprising a portable beverage vending device and an external heating station;said portable beverage vending device comprising an insulated pressure vessel which vessel includes a liquid port; said heating station includes heating means for heating of the beverage to a temperature higher than 100 °C, and said method comprising the steps of: (i) feeding a beverage into the insulated pressure vessel through a liquid port; (ii) heating the beverage in the pressure vessel to a temperature higher than 100 °C at the external heating station, and; (iii) dispensing the hot beverage from said pressure vessel through said liquid port into desired receptacles, wherein when the pressure inside the vessel is less than atmospheric pressure, the hot beverage is dispensed through said liquid port by pneumatically pressurizing said vessel through a pneumatic port and wherein said heating station includes heating means selected from an induction heater or a surface heated at temperature greater than 110 °C.

摘要： A vending machine that mixes and dispenses powdered beverages is disclosed. The machine includes a hollow body having an interior, a plurality of hoppers for holding various powdered mixtures, and delivery means for delivering an amount of powdered mixture from a hopper into a drinking container. There is a water system provided inside the body connected to a water source so that water can be combined with the powdered mixture to make a beverage. The container with the beverage therein is removable through an opening connecting the interior with the exterior of the body. The drinking container has a top lip, a bottom and a wall connecting the top and the bottom. The water system includes a water line connecting the water source with an outlet. The water line or the outlet includes a pivot so that water can be directed from the outlet to the bottom of the container and to the wall of the container to mix the powdered mixture. The bottom of the drinking container may include a central protrusion extending upward into the interior of the container. A cap for the top of the container can be press fitted into the protrusion. One or more inwardly and/or outwardly protruding ledges may be formed in the wall of the container to improve mixing of the powder as the water is directed into the container.
