    • A manual transmission and ignition interlock is provided for a vehicle having a manual transmission operated by a shift lever (20). A solenoid (74) is movable between positions blocking and unblocking movement of the vehicle ignition (62) to OFF. A latch bar (34) carried by the shift lever (20) is biased to a latched position and can be moved to unlatched position by a pull-up ring (26) on the shift lever (20). The latch bar (34) is cammed downward against the spring (30) bias out of latched position when it is extended through a slot (48) in a latch retainer (46) when the shift lever (20) is moved to REVERSE, and then snaps up to latch the shift lever (20). Another (52) solenoid has a plunger (54) which extends to underlie the latch bar (34) and trap it, thus locking the latched shift lever (20) in REVERSE. In one embodiment, bi-stable solenoids (152, 174) are controlled by a controller (100) that is provided with high and low current inputs from branch circuits (102, 104) that include control switches (114, 116) operated by ignition position. The controller (100) extends the latch solenoid (152) when the shift lever (20) is moved to REVERSE and the ignition (162) is moved to ACCESSORY. This closes a switch (116), causing the controller (100) to retract the ignition solenoid (174) and enable movement to OFF. In another embodiment, a control circuit (66) uses conventional solenoids.

    • The device comprises a repositioning mechanism ( MR ) and a fixing mechanism ( MF ) joined by means of a control cable ( C ). The repositioning mechanism ( MR ) comprises a contact rod (10) linked to the contact key with two positions, parking and running, which correspond to the coupling of the key with the ignition switch, and a retention rod (11) joined to the cable ( C ). The fixing mechanism ( MF ) comprises a traction body joined to the lever (2), to its support (11) and to the cable ( C ). When the contact rod (10) and the retention rod (11) are coupled, the traction body (22) blocks the trigger (3) of the lever (2), thereby impeding its actuation. The decoupling of the contact key requires that the lever (2) is in the parking position producing automatically the coupling of both rods (10, 11).

    • A manual transmission and ignition interlock is provided for a vehicle having a manual transmission operated by a shift lever (20).
