摘要： A system for controlling the risks of appearance of pressure ulcers in a user, comprising a number of pressure sensors distributed across a bearing surface of the user, which measure pressure values, a controller, which receives the pressure values, and means which act on the user, which are driven by the controller, wherein tissue-state sensing means measure bioimpedance, temperature and moisture values in an area at risk of the user's body which is in contact with the bearing surface, the controller measuring said values and assessing a level of risk of appearance of pressure ulcers on the basis of the measured pressure, bioimpedance, temperature and moisture values. Another object of the present application is to provide a process for controlling risks of appearance of pressure ulcers.

摘要： A load cell apparatus for use with a bed includes a housing having a top portion and a bottom portion, and a load cell device held by the bottom portion of the housing. The load cell device is structured to generate a signal having a magnitude that is proportional to a first force being applied to the load cell device. The load cell apparatus also includes a button member held by the housing in a manner wherein the button member is structured to engage the load cell device and apply the first force to the load cell device in response to a second force being applied to the top portion of the housing. Also, various systems for monitoring parameters such as weight, sleep quality, fall risk, and/or pressure sore risk that may incorporate such a load cell apparatus.

摘要： A method and apparatus for evaluating foot inflammation each uses at least one temperature detection modality to form a first thermogram and a second thermogram of the sole of at least one foot. Each thermogram forms a substantially continuous set of two-dimensional temperature values across the sole of the (at least one) foot. The thermograms have features; namely, the first thermogram has first features and the second thermogram has second features. The method and apparatus thus control a device to apply at least one transformation to the first and second thermograms to align the first features with corresponding second features, and determine, at any thermogram location, if at least one of the thermograms presents one of a plurality of patterns indicative of inflammation. Finally, the method and apparatus each produce output information indicating the result of the determination of whether the thermograms present one of the plurality of patterns.

摘要： Methods, apparatuses and systems are described for monitoring patient position in order to prevent the development of pressure ulcers. The methods may include initiating a first turn timer to calculate a first amount of time spent by a patient in a first position. The methods may further include initiating a first perfusion timer to calculate a second amount of time spent by the patient out of the first position. The methods may then include determining whether to reset the first turn timer based, at least in part, on whether the second amount of time meets or exceeds a predetermined perfusion time threshold. Once the patient has met or exceeded the predetermined perfusion time threshold, an alert may be issued.
