    • The present invention relates to a tyre (10) for vehicle wheels, comprising : a carcass comprising at least one carcass ply (11) the ends of which are fastened to a pair of annular reinforcing elements (12), each of said annular reinforcing elements being incorporated in a respestive bead (13) of said tyre and comprising at least one metallic threadlike element (22), a tread band (15) extending circumferentially around said carcass structure, and a belt structure (17) circumferentially located between said carcass structure and said tread band. In accordance with the present invention, said at least one threadlike element (22) is performed. The present invention also concerns an annular reinforcing element (12) comprising at least one preformed threadlike element (22) as well as a method for controlling the behaviour, during use, of a tyre for vehicle wheels in an at least partially deflated condition.

    • A tyre (100) for heavy load vehicle wheels comprises a carcass structure (100a), a belt structure (105) arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure (100a), a tread band (106) arranged in a radially outer position with respect to said belt structure (105). The belt structure (105) comprises a plurality of reinforcing cords (11), wherein each cord (11) comprises a core (12) made of non-metallic material, and a plurality of metallic wires (13) substantially parallel to one another and helically wound around said core (12) with a predetermined winding pitch. The metallic wires (13) are arranged around said core (12) so that, in any cross section of the cord (11), they are located at just an angular portion of an ideal circumference that circumscribes the core (12). The cord (11), when subjected to variable loads of between 10% and 40% of the ultimate tensile strength thereof, undergoes an elongation that varies according to a curve having, in a load-percentage elongation graph, a linear correlation coefficient lower than about 0.990, the points of said curve being interpolated by a straight line having an angular coefficient lower than about 30. Said reinforcing cords (11) can be provided in in a stone-guard layer (105d) and/or in the main belt layers (105a, 105b) of the belt structure (105).
