    • An endoscopic imaging system (10) employing an endoscope (20) and an endoscopic imaging workstation (30). In operation, the endoscope (20) generates an intra-operative endoscopic image (22) of a blood vessel tree within an anatomical region. The endoscopic imaging workstation (30) generates for display an overlay image (33) of a pre-operative volume image (44) of the blood vessel tree as registered to the intra-operative endoscopic image (22) of the blood vessel tree, and further generates for display a registration error icon (123) relative to the overlay image (33). The registration error being visually indicative of a magnitude of a spatial differential between a volume image point of the blood vessel tree within the pre-operative volume image (44) as registered to an endoscopic image point of the blood vessel tree within the intra-operative endoscopic image (22).
