    • A medicament delivery device comprising a first container having a delivery outlet at a front end thereof and a first stopper axially moveable in the first container, the first stopper defining and separating a first chamber and a second chamber in the first container, where the first chamber is axially forwards of the first stopper and the second chamber is axially rearwards of the first stopper. As the first stopper is driven axially forwardly, the tensile member is tensioned and causes the second stopper to move axially forwardly and the venting of viscous fluid into the venting chamber via the vent outlet retards the axially forward movement of the second stopper and the first stopper.

    • A syringe assembly comprising a barrel for containing one or more medicaments, the barrel having a front outlet for allowing the expulsion of said one or more medicaments from the said barrel through said outlet, and a first stopper disposed in the barrel and axially moveable therein and defining a first volume in the barrel axially forwards of the first stopper and a second volume in the barrel axially rearwards of the first stopper. The first stopper has a two way valve that is moveable between a sealing configuration and an open configuration to selectively put the first volume in fluid communication with the second volume. The syringe assembly further comprises a first plunger rod connected to the first stopper and extending axially rearwardly through the second stopper, the second stopper sealingly engaging with the first plunger rod but permitting axial sliding of the first plunger rod therethrough. The first plunger rod is axially moveable so as to axially move the first stopper and pressurise either of the first volume and second volume causing the two way valve to move into the open configuration and fluidly connect the first volume and second volume.

    • A valved container assembly (10) comprising a container (12) for containing a fluid, the container (12) extending in an axial direction and having at least one venting opening (12a) at a front end and at least one dispensing opening (12b). The valved container assembly (10) further comprising a valve (14) disposed in the container (12) and a plunger element (20) disposed axially rearward of the valve (14), the plunger element (20) being axially moveable in the container (12) and defining a first volume (22) in the container (12) between the plunger element (20) and the valve (14), where the plunger element (20) is configured to increase the pressure of a fluid in the first volume (22) upon axial movement relative to the valve (14). The valve (14) comprises a permanent seal (16) forming a fluidic seal between the at least one venting opening (12a) and the first volume (22), and a resilient seal (18) that is axially rearward of said permanent seal (16) and is moveable between a sealing configuration and an open configuration. In the sealing configuration the resilient seal (18) forms a fluidic seal with the container (12) between the at least one dispensing opening (12b) and the first volume (22). In at least one axial position of the valve (14) in the container (12) when the resilient seal (18) is in the open configuration the first volume (22) is fluidly connected to the at least one dispensing opening (12b). The resilient seal (18) is moveable from the sealing configuration to the open configuration upon fluid pressure in the first volume (22) exceeding a predetermined pressure threshold.

    • A syringe propellable by propellant that boils at a predetermined temperature, the syringe comprising a barrel having an outlet at a front end, and a stopper axially moveable in the barrel. The stopper defines and separates a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber being axially forwards of the stopper and being configured for containing a medicament, and the second chamber being axially rearwards of the stopper and being configured to receive propellant for acting on the stopper to move the stopper axially forwardly in the barrel to expel medicament through the outlet upon actuation of the syringe. The syringe further comprises a rupturing portion and a third chamber for containing propellant where the third chamber is rupturable. The rupturing portion is configured to rupture the third chamber upon actuation of the syringe to fluidly connect the third chamber to the second chamber and release liquid propellant from the third chamber so that the pressure in the second chamber increases at or above the predetermined temperature causing the stopper to move axially forwardly and begin to expel medicament from the first chamber through the outlet. When propellant is released into the second chamber the pressure in the second chamber increases over a first time period to a first pressure causing the stopper to move axially forwardly to begin expulsion of medicament from the first chamber through the outlet. The syringe is configured such that while the medicament is expelled from the first chamber the pressure in the second chamber changes over a second time period from the first pressure to a second pressure. When substantially all the medicament has been expelled from the first chamber the pressure in the second chamber increases over a third time period towards a third pressure. The magnitude of the second pressure and the rate of increase of the pressure in the second chamber during the third time period are controlled by the thermal conductivity of the components of the syringe defining the second chamber, the rate of delivery of propellant to the second chamber, and the phase of the propellant during delivery into the second chamber. The third pressure is substantially equal to the vapour pressure of the propellant at ambient temperature at the instantaneous volume of the vaporised propellant, and at the third pressure the syringe contains liquid propellant.
