    • Gastrointestinal prosthesis for restraining the rate of the gastric digestion consists of a compressible proximal member connected by a string to a distal member, to be introduced into the intestine. The proximal member has an internal space, which is opened to the gastric lumen and may include passageways for the gastric content as well as open grooves or niches disposed on its external wall. The volume of a proximal member compressed by the gastric wall cannot get smaller than a lower threshold. Anchoring the gastrointestinal prosthesis at its desired location is accomplished by means of the proximal member the geometrical shape of which conforms the geometrical shape of a portion of the gastric lumen; as well as by means of the geometrical shape of the distal member which conforms the geometrical shape of a segment of the duodenum and/or a segment of the intestine.

    • System for effecting ischemic necrosis in a foreskin of a penis, including a rigid ring, at least one elastic ring and at least one circumferential groove, the rigid ring including an inner surface, the inner surface including an inner diameter, and an outer surface, the outer surface including an outer diameter, the elastic ring being configured to substantially fit around a surface of the rigid ring, the circumferential groove being located on a surface of at least one of the rigid ring and the elastic ring, wherein the inner diameter of the rigid ring is at least slightly larger than a diameter of a shaft of the penis, wherein a diameter of the elastic ring in a relaxed state is at least substantially equal to the diameter of the shaft of the penis, wherein the rigid ring is placed around a first surface of the foreskin, wherein the elastic ring is placed around a second surface of the foreskin, the foreskin being placed within the circumferential groove, the rigid ring and the elastic ring thereby compressing the foreskin in the circumferential groove with a compression force, and wherein the compression force is sufficient to effect ischemic necrosis in the foreskin.

    • The present disclosure provides a support element (10,110) for use in effecting ischemic necrosis in a foreskin (186) of a penis, being a closed- loop member defining an opening (12) dimensioned to permit a penis glans to pass therethrough and having an inner surface (14) and an outer surface (16); the outer surface comprising a circumferential support (18, 118) for an elastic ring (150) to be mounted thereon, said circumferential support being formed within a groove (20,120) in at least part of the outer surface; at least one first segment (26, 28) of the outer surface having an outer curvature of a radius larger than that of its flanking second segments (30, 32). Also provided herein is a system (100) for effecting ischemic necrosis in a foreskin (186) of a penis, comprising the support element (110) and elastic ring (150), and optionally a deployment element (160) for mounting the elastic ring over the foreskin and support element.
