    • The invention relates to an underrun protection arrangement for a vehicle (1) comprising a frame (3), an impact element (7) arranged in a position that corresponds to an anticipated stress from a force F in the event of a possible collision with another vehicle (2), at least one link element (8), which is firmly connected to the said impact element (7) and is fixed so that it can pivot in relation to the said frame (3), and an energy-absorbing element (11), which connects the impact element (7) to the frame (3) and which is designed to be compressed in the event of a pivoting movement on the part of the impact element (7). The invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one locking element (10), which is designed to permit the said pivoting movement only in the event of a stress acting on the impact element (7) with a force that exceeds a predetermined limit. The invention provides an improved underrun protection intended primarily for commercial vehicles.

    • An absorbing product comprising a substantially cylindrical cartridge of a web material (13) with a first inner layer (25) and an intermediate layer (24) which merge into each other at a twisted portion (19) at one end of the cartridge, and a third outer layer (27) which connects to the first layer at another twisted portion (26) at the other end of the cartridge. The method comprises the step of arranging a cartridge (17) of web material on the mandrel, a shorter and a longer portion (17A and 17B, respectively) of the cartridge then being rotated to provide an intermediate twisted portion (19). By pressure against said latter portion the longer cartridge portion (17B) is drawn partly into the shorter cartridge portion (17A), the longer cartridge portion then being twisted between the part that has been drawn, and the rest of the cartridge portion which is then turned inside out onto the shorter cartridge portion.

    • The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1) and the construction of the vehicle seat in order to provide a robust structure which will assure the safety of an occupant in the seat in case of an accident. In particular, the invention relates to a seat having a seat belt of the 'belt in seaf-kind. The vehicle seat (1) comprises a backrest frame (2) and a seat frame (4) connected to each other to form a seat structure. The seat (1) comprises further a seat base (6) adapted to be rigidly connected to the frame structure of a vehicle, and the seat base (6) is connected to the seat frame (3) via a seat suspension (7). The seat (1) further comprises a tether (10) which at one of its ends is attached to the back of the seat at a first, upper attachment point (11) and at its other end attached at a second, lower attachment point (13) in order to improve the strength of the seat in case of an accident. The seat is characterised in that it is provided with at least one lever arm (15,16, or 17) on the back side of the seat (1) which shall be used as an attachment point (11, 13) for the tether (10) or as a guide or support for the tether (10) located in between the upper attachment point (11) and the lower attachment point. Hence, by prolonging the total lever arm and redirect the direction of the counteractive force working to withstand the forces on the vehicle seat in the case of an accident, an improved performance of the tethering arrangement and thus an improve the safety for a belted person occupying the seat may be achieved.
