摘要： The present invention includes a method for enhancing the taste of a food product, which includes the steps of culturing a submerged mycelial liquid tissue culture in a media, collecting the supernatant fluid of the submerged mycelial liquid tissue culture, and adding the collected supernatant fluid to a food product in an amount sufficient to enhance the food product's taste. In one embodiment, the mycelial liquid tissue culture comprises C. sinensis, and the culture step is carried out for between about one and sixty days. The food products include stevia plant parts, steviol glycoside, aspartame, acesulfame-K, sucralose, carbohydrates, monk fruit, cacao, cacao liquor, tea, ginseng, pea protein, sugar alcohol, coffee, cranberry, grapefruit, pomegranate, coconut, wine, beer, liquor and spirits. The present invention also includes products made by the disclosed methods.

摘要： Methods and kits for the identification of chromosomal abnormalities are described. Single-stranded sister chromatids are generated, for example by CO-FISH. Target DNA is identified on the single-stranded sister chromatid such that the target DNA sequences flank at least one break point of a previously characterized type of inversion. Labeled probes of relatively small size are generated and hybridized to target DNA sequences flanking such a break point. If no inversion exists, all of the probes will hybridize to a first chromatid. If an inversion has occurred, these labeled probes will be detected on the sister chromatid at the same location as the inversion on the first chromatid.

摘要： A method of monitoring combustion properties in an interior of a furnace is described. A beam of light is projected through a pitch optic including a pitch collimating lens residing outside the boiler interior. The pitch collimating lens projects the beam through a penetration into the boiler interior. The beam of light projected by the pitch collimating lens is reflected from at least one in-furnace retro-reflector, and received with a catch optic substantially identical to the pitch optic residing outside the boiler interior. The pitch optic and the catch optic may be embodied in the same pitch/catch optic. The pitch collimating lens may also be steered toward another of the at least one in-furnace retro-reflectors. Combustion properties may be calculated for each retro-reflector or based on retro-reflector zones within the furnace.
