    • The invention relates to an arrangement, comprising an armature, (3) as a photoelectric barrier in the form an aperture plate, of an electric motor (1), an opto-transmitter (6) and an opto-receiver (7). Said arrangement forms a transmitted-light probe for detecting the revolutions of the motor. The opto-transmitter is arranged on one side of the armature, and the opto-receiver on the other side. The armature has bars (8) and windings (9). There is a bar groove (10) between the individual bars and windings in each case. The opto-transmitter and the opto-receiver are aligned with said bar groove in such a manner that when a bar groove passes the opto-receiver, light falls on said receiver. Consequently, there is a light pulse for each bar groove. If the motor is used as a positioning motor in conjunction with an actuator, the arrangement according to the invention can be also advantageously used for digital position and distance detection

    • The invention relates to an arrangement for detecting the ignition of a high-pressure gas discharge lamp, in particular for use in a vehicle headlight. Said arrangement contains a circuit for supplying the high-pressure gas discharge lamp with burning power, a control circuit and an ignition circuit. Said ignition circuit is acted upon, for ignition, by an auxiliary voltage. The control circuit is designed so that it detects ignition of the high-pressure gas discharge lamp immediately as a result of the behaviour or the status of the auxiliary voltage (UH). Said control circuit can be provided with a microcontroller (20). The auxiliary voltage supplied during ignition is connected to the microcontroller in such a manner that it detects ignition immediately. To this end, the auxiliary voltage is applied at the external interrupt entry (21) of the microcontroller by way of a voltage divider (22,23, 24) with logical potential. The falling edge which occurs during ignition as a result of the breakdown of the auxiliary voltage or the low voltage level is detected immediately by the microcontroller and interpreted as ignition.

    • The output control system for an a.c. high-pressure gas-discharge lamp intended in particular for a motor vehicle contains a bridge circuit in which two controlled switching transistors provided in at least one branch and in which the high-pressure gas-discharge lamp is supplied with ignition or arcing power via the bridge branch of the bridge circuit. It is proposed that the switching transistors should switch the current in the form of pulse packets each of which should contain a specific number of high-frequency pulses; switching should be carried out with minimum waste during current zero crossing; and regulation should be made to ensure that a defined output of the high-pressure gas-discharge lamp is maintained by a continuous averaging process over a predetermined interval (44, 45) of the supplied output packet.

    • A chip card (1) is disclosed with write and/or read contacts (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) on its surface. The write and/or read contacts (10, ..., 17) contact corresponding rigid matching contacts (20, ..., 27) of a card reader with a chip card (1) reception shaft. The contacts (10, ..., 17) are designed in such a way that contact is maintained when the chip card (1) is moved beyond its normal position, in particular when it is inserted into the card reception shaft, during the time required to end a writing operation when the chip card (1) is removed from the card reception shaft and/or when the chip card (1) is moved in or across its insertion direction into the card reader, in particular when the chip card (1) is inserted into or withdrawn from the card reader. The contacts (10, ..., 17) are designed in such a way that no short-circuit is produced between individual contacts (10, ..., 17) when the matching contacts (20, ..., 27) pass over the contacts (10, ..., 17). A chip card reader has a chip card (1) reception shaft and matching contacts (20, ..., 27) that mechanically cooperate with write and/or read contacts (10, ..., 17) on the chip card (1) and that electrically connect a computer to the contacts (10, ..., 17). The matching contacts (20, ..., 27) are rounded in and/or across the insertion direction of the chip card (1) into the card reader. The curvature radius is selected in such a way that no short-circuit is produced between individual contacts (10, ..., 17) when the matching contacts (20, ..., 27) pass over the contacts (10, ..., 17) of the chip card (1).

    • The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a vehicle drive unit. According to said method the control functions for the power of the drive unit and the monitoring of said control functions are carried out by a single microcomputer. A monitoring module separated from the microcomputer is provided to check the monitoring functions and send test signals to the microcomputer at a given time. Said microcomputer subsequently calculates the monitoring function of interest on the basis of test data. The result of the calculation is transmitted to the monitoring module which checks the operation capacity of the function monitoring system in the microcomputer by comparing it with stored values.
