    • The present feed regulating conveyor bin has a lower conveyor for conveying fibrous materials toward a discharge device including a pair of inclined rows of spiked rollers. A stud link chain conveyor is provided above the lower conveyor in the upper portion of the bin housing. Flexible, smooth surfaced pieces are hinged to each of the stud links. The surface pieces have a width substantially equal to the width of the housing and a length greater than the distances between adjacent stud links of the chain. A platform is provided beneath the upper course of the stud link chain conveyor in the region of an inlet opening on the upper surface of the housing, to support the surface pieces in a horizontal position for receiving and transporting fibrous material. At the end of the platform the surface pieces hinge downwardly to drop the fibrous material onto the lower conveyor belt or if a pile of material is already present thereon, to carry the fibrous material on the other sides of the surface pieces supported by the top of the pile of material, for discharge at the end of the pile away from the discharge device.

    • A printer wherein a zero position sensor generates a zero-position signal and a non-zero-position signal depending upon whether the print head is placed in its zero position or not, and a print head locking mechanism is provided for permitting print head movement from the zero position when a ribbon holder supporting one or more ribbons is placed in a predetermined initial position, and inhibiting the print head movement from the zero position when the ribbon holder is not in the initial position, so that the non-zero-position signal is generated if the print head is moved away from the zero position with the ribbon holder placed in the initial position. When the ribbon holder is not in the initial position, the print head is not moved away from the zero position and the zero-position signal remains even if the print head is commanded to move away from the zero position, so that the single zero position sensor cooperates with the locking mechanism to detect both the print head zero position and the ribbon holder initial position.

    • A ribbon cartridge (10) is attached to a carrier (1) of a printing device such that it is tiltable along an axis that is parallel to the print line to drop the ribbon such that the print line is visible. That part of cartridge (10) which is opposite of the ribbon exposing part and on the other side of tilting axis (18) is on its bottom provided with a ribbon advance knob (8). Into this knob (8) two essentially upright standing walls and inclined ramps (11) are molded. The ribbon feed device (6), provided on carrier (1), has a blade (5) or noses (17) which cooperate with slot-forming walls (12) of knob (8). In ribbon drive direction (14) cartridge (10) automatically drops into coupling interconnection for ribbon feed. Upon turning ribbon feed device (6) in reverse direction (16) blade (5) or noses (17) slide up ramp (11) and lift the rear part and drop the front part of the cartridge (10) so that the print line is rendered visible.
