摘要： An ink ribbon cassette is pivotably mounted to a printer. Ink ribbon is accommodated in the ink ribbon cassette and is caused to travel by a ribbon feed roller driven by a drive shaft provided in the printer. Printing operation is carried out at the cassette end arm portion by a printing head, while the cassette end arm portion is reciprocatingly moved in the widthwise direction of the ink ribbon relative to the fixed printing head by an actuating mechanism so that a printing region of the ink ribbon is diffused and becomes wider than a printing width of the printing head. The actuating mechanism includes a small gear integral with the ribbon feed roller, a cam driven by the small gear, and a lever engaging with the cam.

摘要： A light guiding board allows introduction of light into an optically-transparent board member through an incidence surface. Prisms serve to irradiate the light out of the back surface of the optically-transparent board member. A surface emission is realized at the back surface of the optically-transparent board member. In the case where an uneven luminance is generated in the light emitted toward the incidence surface, a flat region is aligned with a dark region. The flat region serves to direct the light to the prisms. The light scatters at a position outside the flat region based on the action of a light scattering structure. A part of the scattered light is directed to the extension of the flat region. The light of a sufficient amount can be introduced into the prisms on the extension of the flat region.

摘要： The present invention relates to an optical scanning unit used for exposing a photosensitive drum of an image forming apparatus to light, and an image forming apparatus using this optical scanning unit. This optical scanning unit comprises a light source; an optical scanning mechanism for scanning with light from the light source; a start detecting mechanism for detecting scan light of the optical scanning mechanism at an end portion of a scanning range of the scan light to detect beginning of light scanning; and a frame which has a higher rigidity than that of a frame of an image forming apparatus and to which the light source, the optical scanning mechanism and the start detecting mechanism are attached. The image forming apparatus comprises an endless photosensitive body; charging unit for charging the photosensitive body; an optical scanning unit for exposing the photosensitive body to light, including a light source, an optical scanning mechanism having the same structure as the aforementioned optical scanning unit; a developing unit for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive body by light exposure by the optical scanning unit; and a transfer unit for transferring a toner image on the photosensitive body onto a sheet. Alteration of the optical path of the optical scanning unit by external force applied is made smaller by making the frame of the optical scanning unit more rigid than that of the image forming apparatus.
