摘要： A decorative layer removal tool for flooring is configured with a removal shaft and either a drill attachment or handle to remove the decorative layer from a plank. The removal shaft includes a threaded end to attach to either the handle or drill attachment. The handle can be used when the user wishes to manually rotate the shaft and remove the decorative layer; the drill attachment can be used with a power drill for a motorized removal. The removal shaft includes a slit that extends from an unthreaded end to the threaded side. In typical implementations, the slit may not extend to the shaft's threads. At least a portion of the slit is used to receive the decorative surface layer from a plank, thereby enabling the decorative layer's removal.

摘要： Systems and methods can include scoring a backing material of a luxury vinyl plank (“LVP”) to allow an otherwise rigid plank to flex within a scoring section. The scoring section can include multiple parallel grooves that reach a depth that partially scores the backing material. The LVP can be positioned on a stair tread such that the scoring section wraps around an edge of the tread nose. The LVP can be clamped on top and bottom of the stair tread nose to allow adhesives to take effect. A scoring device can include a blade assembly with multiple blades to create multiple scored grooves in one pass.

摘要： A stair step jig assembly for smoothing treads on concrete steps includes a jig that is elongated to a predetermined length to extend along a full length of a tread on a concrete step for smoothing the tread before the concrete has cured. A riser adjustment is hingedly coupled to the jig and the riser adjustment unit abuts a concrete form that is positioned against the riser of the step adjacent to the tread upon which the jig is positioned. A leg is hingedly coupled to the jig and the leg slidably engages the riser adjustment such that each of the leg, the riser adjustment and the jig forms a triangle. The leg has engages a top of the riser of the step adjacent to tread upon which the jig is positioned for keeping the jig at a fixed angle on the tread.

摘要： A temporary tread insert and method for installation in a stairway framework during building construction. The temporary tread insert includes an insert body having an upper tread surface, a bottom surface and opposed side surfaces. A front end of the insert body has a substantially bullnose shaped curved surface. The upper tread surface has a notched surface extending along the upper tread surface. Also disclosed is the method of inserting the temporary tread insert into the stair pan of a stairway framework, where the stair pan includes a bullnose at a front end of the stair pan, and the bullnose has a portion extending laterally a distance into the stair pan. The temporary tread insert includes a notched surface. The method includes positioning the temporary tread insert above a bottom of the pan, inserting the notched end of the temporary tread insert beneath the laterally extending portion of the bullnose, and moving the rear end of the temporary tread insert downward until the notched end of the temporary tread insert engages the underside of the portion extending laterally from the bullnose.

摘要： An apparatus for trimming step edges includes a nose piece for locating at an edge of a horizontal existing surface, a covering board for covering the horizontal existing surface, and a riser board for locating a top of the riser board at or adjacent the edge with the board in an upright orientation. The nose piece includes at its rear a recess for receiving a projecting tongue of the covering board, which cooperate to retain the covering board positioned against the existing surface. The apparatus additionally features a fastener projecting forwardly at a bottom of the tongue for mechanically coupling with a distinct locking recess in the nose piece. The apparatus also features a receptacle for placing at a rear of the covering board to receive another riser board, which conceals a gap between the rear edge of the covering board and an upright surface upstanding from the existing surface.

摘要： A cover for a step may include a pad placed upon the underside of the cover. The cover may affix to the beck end of the step via one or more fasteners directed along damps rotatably mounted to a back end of the cover. A catch may be employed which is permanently mounted to the back end of the step to catch an end of the cover. The catch may include a hinged cover to allow for temporary emplacement of the cover and may include a recess to capture a rod and a hinged cover to securing the rod. Temporary hook-and-loop fastener strip may be used to affix the front end of the cover over the step.

The shelving components include a body, a male portion that extends from a first end of the body and a female portion that defines a void in an opposite, second end. The posts are sized and shaped to be inserted into overlapping apertures of first and second shelving components, the overlapping apertures comprising (i) a first aperture in a male portion of the first component inserted into a female portion of the second component and (ii) a second aperture in the female portion of the second component.
