摘要： An apparatus for trimming step edges includes a nose piece for locating at an edge of a horizontal existing surface, a covering board for covering the horizontal existing surface, and a riser board for locating a top of the riser board at or adjacent the edge with the board in an upright orientation. The nose piece includes at its rear a recess spaced from a top of the nose piece that receives a projecting tongue of the covering board. These cooperate to retain the covering board positioned against the existing surface. The apparatus also features a receptacle receiving another riser board in a position upstanding from the existing surface. The receptacle is locatable at a rear of the covering board in spaced relation to the nose piece so as to conceal a gap between the rear edge of the covering board and an upright surface upstanding from the existing surface.

摘要： A traction element for carpeted stair treads or other flooring includes a deformable substrate secured by screws to the tread that is vertically aligned with the top edge of a riser and slightly rearward of the tread leading edge. The substrate is covered with adhesive backed friction tape. The screws extend through respective apertures centered in respective concave tapered annular recesses defined in the substrate. The apertures are in a linear array defining a bend axis along the substrate length and the tread width and about which the substrate deforms as it is being threadedly attached to the tread. When thusly bent the substrate top surface becomes concave such that its forward edge is higher than its rearward edge, thereby establishing a slight forwardly extending incline. The tape strip conforms to the bent substrate and its exposed top surface comprises a high friction or abrasive substance.

摘要： An exemplary stair nosing assembly comprises an elongated base, a plate adhered to the base, and a cover temporarily covering the base and the plate. The base has at least one anchor portion extending downwardly from the upper portion for attaching to a lip of a tread pan and/or embedding in a concrete tread. The plate can have various features to enhance traction and visibility. The cover has front and rear lips that engage with front and rear edges of the base, and a weakened region adjacent the rear lip. When the assembly is embedded in a concrete tread, the cover is configured to fracture at the weakened region when the front lip of the cover is lifted upward from the base, leaving the rear lip remaining embedded in the concrete and allowing the rest of the cover to be removed to expose upper surfaces of the base and plate.

摘要： Provided is a system and method for removable stair treads and risers having a bracket with a horizontal mounting surface and a vertical mounting surface. The bracket has openings on the horizontal mounting surface to allow a fastener to secure the bottom of a stair tread to the bracket. The bracket has openings on the vertical mounting surface to allow a fastener to secure the bracket to a supporting structure. The vertical mounting surface has at least one recess connected to a primary portion of an attaching element. A riser has a secondary portion of an attaching element attached to an unexposed surface of the riser located opposite at least one recess of the bracket. This allows the riser to be removably attached to the bracket without causing damage to the surrounding stair treads or risers.
