摘要： An automatic transmission control apparatus is provided with a brake switch, a brake fluid pressure detecting section, a range position detecting section, a neutral control section and a prohibiting section. The brake switch is configured to output an on-signal when a brake pedal is depressed and otherwise output an off-signal. The brake fluid pressure detecting section is configured to detect a brake fluid pressure corresponding to a brake pedal depression force. The range position detecting section is configured to detect if a traveling range of an automatic transmission is selected. The neutral control section is configured to start a neutral control that puts the automatic transmission into a neutral state when the brake fluid pressure detected by the brake fluid detecting section exceeds a start threshold value while the range position detecting section detects that the traveling range is selected, and to end the neutral control when the brake fluid pressure falls below an end threshold value while the neutral control is being executed, with the start and end threshold values being set to values that are higher than the brake fluid pressure occurring when the brake switch starts outputting the on-signal. The prohibiting section is configured to prohibit the neutral control from being subsequently started again, after the neutral control has been started by the neutral control section, regardless of the brake fluid pressure detected by the brake fluid pressure detecting section until the brake switch outputs the off-signal.

The method includes supplying fuel to the engine of the heavy truck at a rate that facilitates engine-idle operation. In another step, the method engages the automatic or semi-automatic transmission in a gear higher than the starting gear of the transmission and permits the truck to operate at a first substantially uniform driving velocity under engine-idle power. Depending upon traffic and environmental requirements which require a higher speed, the driver upshifts the semi-automatic or automatic transmission by depressing a control device for manual gear selection arranged on a gear shift lever of the truck and then drives the truck at a second substantially uniform driving velocity under engine-idle power. The second substantially uniform driving velocity is greater than the first substantially uniform driving velocity.

The pre-stage gear is released after the torque transfer is completed with the electric motor, and the clutch is exchanged after synchronizing the motor speed with the electric motor. As the friction control of the clutch is not performed, smooth gear shift work can be realized, and the same control scheme extends to creep control, idling stop starting control, R-to-D, D-to-R selecting control to be enabled, which leads to such an effect that the life is extended without the clutch being worn away, as well as the drivability can be increased remarkably. As a single transmission can realize multiple functions, there is such an effect that the overall cost can be reduced relatively.

If the vehicle is moving at start-up as a result of a stall or accidental reset of the microprocessor, and the shift levers have not been moved since the stall or reset, the microprocessor retrieves from a nonvolatile memory an indication of the last selected powershift gear prior to the reset and uses it for the initial powershift gear selection. When an operator depresses a clutch, shifts a shift lever and then changes his mind and shifts the shift lever back to its original position before releasing the clutch above a threshold point, the microprocessor selects the powershift gear in effect at the time the clutch pedal was depressed.

摘要： In a transmission system having range shift levers mechanically linked to couplers and shiftable between first and second positions to select ranges of gears and electro-hydraulic powershift clutches for selecting a gear within the range selected by the range shift lever, the powershift clutches are located on each side of at least one of the couplers, between the input shaft and the coupler and between the output shaft and the coupler. A dump solenoid is controlled by operation of a clutch pedal to release fluid from the powershift clutches as the clutch pedal is depressed but before it reaches the fully depressed position so that the coupler is not being driven when coupler shifting takes place. A microprocessor is responsive to shifting of the range shift levers to control energization of the powershift clutches so that when one or more of the shift levers is shifted the lowest powershift gear is selected if the new lever positions will produced a higher gear range and the highest powershift gear is selected if the new lever positions select a lower gear range.
