摘要： Collision control system (40) for controlling deflection of an instrument cluster (30) in a vehicle during collision. Said collision control system (40) comprises a steering assembly (10) including a steering wheel (12) and a steering column (11), a cross car beam (20) comprising a first sliding surface (22), and an instrument panel assembly (35) including an instrument cluster (30) and a second sliding surface (32), which is arranged to abut and slide along said first sliding surface (22) during said collision. During collision said steering column (11) is configured to move forward in a controlled manner and said steering column assembly (10) is arranged to push said instrument cluster (30), such that said second sliding surface (32) of said instrument panel assembly (35) slides along the first surface (22) for controlled deflection of the instrument cluster (30).

摘要： In order for a core metal member having three spoke parts to be usable in a three-spoke steering wheel and a two-spoke steering wheel having one fewer spoke part than the three-spoke steering wheel, one of the spoke parts of the core metal member is a separable spoke part, which is separable along separation marks provided on vertical spokes forming the separable spoke part. Each vertical spoke constituting the separable spoke part is provided with an indented first fragile portion and an indented second fragile portion which also act as the separation marks.

In one embodiment, a method for using an energy absorber element in a vehicle can comprise: detachably connecting an energy absorber element to a vehicle at a support location for a vehicle component, once the energy absorber element has absorbed energy, detaching the energy absorber element from the vehicle; and separately replacing the energy absorber element from the vehicle component. In some embodiments, the vehicle component is not replaced.

摘要： The steering wheel includes a wheel body and an airbag apparatus disposed on top of a boss. The wheel body is divided into a shaft side division joined to the steering shaft, and a ring side division disposed proximate the ring. The ring side division is rotatable with respect to the shaft side division such that a ring plane is aligned generally vertically. The boss includes an actuator that rotates and moves the ring side division to align the ring plane generally vertically. The actuator completes its operation to align the ring plane generally vertically by the time a driver contacts the inflated airbag in the course of forward motion.

There is located a switch operation portion in at least one of the two front spokes neighboring a front space inside the ring portion and generally symmetrically arranged relative to the boss portion. The cores of the front spokes are further provided at positions generally symmetric relative to the boss portion and to the boss portion relative to the switch operation portion with deformable portions, respectively, to be twist-deformable upon self-alignment.
