摘要： A method of making a super-hard article comprising a super-hard structure (14) bonded to a substrate (18), the super-hard structure comprising a sintered plurality of super-hard grains. The method includes providing raw material powder suitable for sintering the super-hard structure. The raw material powder is combined with organic binder material in a liquid medium to form paste. The content of the raw material powder is more than 60 and less than 85 mass per cent of the paste and the composition of the paste is such that it has a shear rate of at most 25 inverse second (s-1). A substrate assembly is provided, which comprises the substrate, having a formation surface area configured for forming a boundary of the super-hard structure, the substrate comprising a recess coterminous with the formation surface area. The paste is extruded into contact with the formation surface area to provide a paste assembly. The paste assembly is heat treated to remove the binder material and provide a pre-sinter assembly. The pre-sinter assembly is subjected to a pressure and temperature sufficient to sinter the raw material powder and transform it into the super-hard structure bonded to the substrate at a boundary coterminous with the formation surface area. The super-hard material is diamond or cubic boron nitride.

摘要： A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibers extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibers that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.

摘要： A method for producing a laminated product including applying a slab product to at least one surface of a substrate, the method including placing the substrate onto the slab material when the slab product is in a semi set partially cured state, then allowing the laminated product to cure. Preferably the slab is cement based and the substrate is a masonry product, already manufactured and cured, e.g., tiles, mosaics, bench tops. The method may alternatively cast a cementitious slab first, and then when that is partially cured pour the cementitious substrate onto it, then cutting the whole assembly into smaller pieces while the whole assembly is still in a partially cured semi set state.

The method improves the physical characteristics of the article by forming the airfoil using a co-processing method wherein a refractory ceramic is cast against a preformed ceramic matrix composite (CMC) shell. In one aspect, the shell is continuous to help prevent delaminations. In another aspect, the shell is open. In one embodiment, the article includes a split line. The split line helps the article to be less susceptible to damage caused from internal strain.
