    • A tube slotting apparatus (10) includes a base (12) upon which a polyvinyl chloride tube (86) is disposed. The tube (86) is mounted over a convex surface (71) to allow bowing thereof. A tensioning apparatus (52) presses the tube (86) against the convex surface such that the upper surface thereof is tensioned and the lower surface thereof is in compression. A plurality of saw blades (70) are mounted on a pivoting bracket (72) to provide cutting of the slots in the tube (86). Rotation of the saw blades (70) on to the tensioned surface of the polyvinyl chloride tube (86) results in the formation of slots. The saw blades (70) are rotated in the opposite direction to the cutting teeth and the portion of the polyvinyl chloride tube (86) disposed between the two saw blades during formation of the slots pulls away from the surface of the saw blades such that binding is prevented.

    • A device for cutting flexible spiral tubes or cables is provided having a housing in which an axle is rotatably mounted. A disc blade is affixed to the axle and positioned within the housing such that the outer edge protrudes into a groove provided on the top of the housing. The tube or cable to be cut is placed within the groove is contact with the edge of the blade. Means are provided for removably connecting one end of said axle to a drilling mechanism to rotate the axle and blade such that the tube or cable within the groove is cut. One embodiment provides means for changing the size of the groove to accommodate different diameter cables.

    • A machine for perforating corrugated tubing at accurately spaced locations includes a double chain conveyor which positively engages the tubing and is driven intermittently to advance the tubing in steps of equal length. Upon completion of each step a pair of clamping members are actuated to engage the tubing, the clamping faces of the members being shaped so as to locate the tubing positively while it is stationary. When the tubing is so located, accurately positioned sets of cutters are brought into operation so as to cut slots or holes in the tubing at the desired locations. Upon completion of the cutting stroke, the clamping members are automatically released and the conveyor advances the tubing by another step. The sequence of operations in each cycle is controlled by limit switches responsive to the positions of the conveyor, the clamping means and the cutters. The cutters may be rotary saws or rotary drills.
