摘要： A magneto-optical disk which has a circular disk form and comprises a substrate provided with information pits and a guide groove, a recording medium layer provided on the substrate, and a protective layer formed of at least one thin film on the medium layer, in which the surface of the protective layer is minutely roughened to have a concave rough pattern and not to substantially protrude beyond a reference level composed of the outermost surface portions of the protective layer. When the magneto-optical disk is subjected to recording by a CSS system using an air floating magnetic head conforming to high-frequency recording in a magnetic field modulation type recording, which is one of methods of overwrite recording on magneto-optical disks, the minute concave rough pattern formed on the surface of the disk substrate prevents such troubles as adhesion of the magnetic head to the surface of the disk and collision between the disk substrate being rotated and the head.

摘要： A magnetic field of a polarity corresponding to information to be recorded is applied while a recording spot having a high energy is irradiated to a magneto-optical recording medium to record domains representing the information along a track. The recorded domains are read out by a reproducing spot having a lower energy than the recording spot and a high resolution power along the track. A recording head has an optical system for irradiating the recording spot having the high energy to the magneto-optical recording medium and a magnetic head for applying a magnetic field having a polarity thereof switched in accordance with the information to be recorded, to an irradiation area of the recording spot, a reproducing head has an optical system for irradiating the reproducing spot having the low energy by a laser beam having a wavelength of no larger than 600 nm and a magneto-optical signal detector for detecting a displacement of a polarization plane of a reflected light of the reproducing spot to read out the recording domains. The magneto-optical recording medium is made of a recording film having a multi-layer structure of alternate lamination of metal layers and dielectric layers.

摘要： In an optical recording disk wherein a resin layer cured with ultraviolet radiation is provided on a surface of a transparent substrate, the present invention consists in that a material having a heat distortion temperature of at least 65.degree. C. is employed for the ultraviolet-cured resin layer. The appearance of wrinkles on a UV-cured resin surface is suppressed, whereby an optical recording disk of high carrier-to-noise ratio and long lifetime can be provided.

摘要： The present invention provides a hybrid lens having an axially asymmetrical non-spherical shape, good mass productivity, and excellent shape precision surface precision as well as environment resistant property, and a method for fabricating same, as well as a method and a device for a laser printer using that hybrid lens. In particular, there are disclosed a method, by which, when an axially asymmetrical non-spherical convex lens is formed by the replica method, the shape thereof is transcribed with a high precision, as well as a method and a device for fabricating an axially asymmetrical non-spherical concave lens (female die) serving as an original for the transcription. In a device for fabricating a female die by direct grinding, the positions of a rotation axis of an object to be worked and a rotation axis of a grinding wheel are controlled and it has further a function of correcting mounting errors, when the object to be worked and the grinding wheel are mounted.

摘要： In a process for producing optical disks comprising the steps of subjecting the photoresist layer on a substrate formed of silicon, quartz, glass or a metal to light exposure, developing and etching treatments to obtain a stamper and then duplicating an information pattern for an optical disk from the stamper obtained above to a transparent substrate by using a UV curable resin to prepare a replicated substrate of an optical disk, a large number of stampers can be prepared in a short time by conducting the light exposure either by contacting the mask side surface of a substrate provided with a photomask having an information pattern for an optical disk to the photoresist side surface of said substrate having the photoresist layer or by noncontact projection, and a rapid replication of large quantities of replicated substrates becomes possible by using a large number of stampers thus prepared.

摘要： A magneto-optical recording medium comprises in combination: a magneto-optical recording layer capable of writing or erasing information by a laser beam and an external magnetic field and of reading the information by a Kerr effect; and a substrate having the magneto-optical recording layer formed thereon. The magneto-optical recording layer has at least two layers, including a first magneto-optical recording layer and a second magneto-optical recording layer which are magnetically coupled together. The first magneto-optical recording layer is a layer providing a greater magneto-optical effect in a short light wavelength range than the second magneto-optical recording layer though that having less perpendicular magnetic energy than this, as is provided on an irradiation side of the laser beam. It provides advantages in both the magneto-optical effect and perpendicular anisotropy in consideration of the thicknesses or compositions of the first and second magneto-optical recording layers.
