    • The present invention relates to a process for preparing solid, microcellular or expanded plastic molded items, characterized in that said molded items are produced in molds in which the internal surfaces consist of steel with the percentage composition:a) Fe: having a wt % greater than 0 wt % and less than 100 wt %;b) at least one element selected from the group consisting of W, Mo, or V, wherein if W is selected, W is present from a range greater than 0 wt % to 40 wt %; wherein if Mo is selected, Mo is present from a range greater than 0 wt % to 12 wt %; and if V is selected, V is present from a range greater than 0 wt % to 5 wt %;c) at least one element selected from the group consisting of Cr, Al, wherein if Cr is selected, Cr is present in a concentration of greater than 0 wt % to 15 wt %; and if Al is selected, Al is present in a concentration of greater than 0 wt % to 15 wt %;d) optionally, carbon at a concentration ranging from 0.1 to 1.5 wt %;e) optionally, cobalt at a concentration ranging from 0.1 to 10 wt %; andf) optionally, nitrogen in a nitriding layer at a concentration ranging from greater than 0 wt % to 10 wt %.

    • Liquid polyamine crosslinking agent formulations based on trimerized toluylene 2,4- and/or 2,6-diisocyanate, with formation of an isocyanurate structure and hydrolysis of the isocyanate groups to amine groups, are described. The novel crosslinking agent formulations have a content of 40 to 80% of the total weight of the solids content of the crosslinking agent formulation of 1,3,5-tris-(3-amino-4-methyl-phenyl,2-methyl-3-aminophenyl) isocyanurate (I) which is not further condensed, and a content of not more than 1.0% of the total weight of the crosslinking agent formulations of toluylene-2,4- and/or -2,6-diamine (III). For the preparation, toluylene diisocyanate is trimerized, to form the isocyanurate structure, until 10 to 25% of the NCO groups have been reacted. The toluylene diisocyanate which has not undergone condensation is then distilled off, the bottom product formed by this operation is taken up directly in a solvent A and the 30 to 70% strength by weight solution formed by this procedure is metered into a hydrolysis in water/N,N-dialkyl-carboxylic acid amide in the presence of a catalytic amount of a basic catalyst. After the hydrolysis, the crosslinking agent formulations are brought to a solids content of 35 to 60% of the total weight of the formulation by distilling off a portion of the solvents and adding a solvent B.

    • Polyamines containing aromatically bound primary amino groups are prepared in a single stage process by hydrolyzing an isocyanate in the presence of a compound containing an amidine and/or guanidine group and a water-miscible, aprotic-dipolar solvent. This hydrolysis is carried out at from 20.degree. to 210.degree. C. with the reactants being in substantially homogeneous phase. The isocyanate starting material contains aromatically bound NCO groups and has NCO content of from 0.5 to 40 wt. %. The compound containing amidine and/or guanidine groups functions as a catalyst and is used in a quantity of at least 0.001 parts by weight for every 100 parts by weight of isocyanate. The water-miscible solvent is used in a quantity of at least 10 parts by weight for every 100 parts by weight of polyisocyanate. The polyamines thus-produced are particularly useful in the production of polyurethanes.

C., optionally contains water, and is an adduct of carbon dioxide and an amine having at least one amino group and containing at least one primary, secondary or tertiary hydroxyl group, which amine may be solid or liquid at 20.degree.
