摘要： Provided is a transparent, non-elastomeric optical article prepared by (1) combining to form a reaction mixture (a) a polyisocyanate component; and (b) an active hydrogen component including (b1) a first component free of amino groups including at least one first polyol; and (b2) a second component containing (i) a second polyol and/or a polythiol and (ii) a compound containing both amine and hydroxyl functional groups; (2) introducing the reaction mixture to a mold at a temperature and for a time sufficient to form a thermoset polymerizate; and (3) releasing the polymerizate from the mold to yield a transparent, non-elastomeric optical article. Also provided is a method for preparing a transparent optical film. Optical films and articles prepared by the methods also are provided.

摘要： Articles of manufacture possessing corrosion resistance characteristics are described, in particular for use in the chlor-alkali and other industries. The articles are formed from a resin composition, e.g., a cyclic olefin composition, polymerized with a Group 8 olefin metathesis catalyst. In particular aspects, an electrolytic cell component, such as a cell cover for use in the electrolysis of brine, may be formed from the resin composition. Among other benefits, such articles provide improved corrosion resistance compared to articles molded from other resin compositions, such as fiberglass reinforced polyesters and vinyl esters, and two-component dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) resins comprising molybdenum or tungsten pre-catalysts.

摘要： Provided is a method of preparing a transparent, non-elastomeric optical article including (1) combining to form a reaction mixture free of urethanation catalysts (a) a polyisocyanate component; and (b) an active hydrogen component of polyol and/or polythiol, and at least one compound containing both amine and hydroxyl functional groups; (2) allowing the polyisocyanate component to react with amine functional groups in the active hydrogen component to form an intermediate product including a polyurea prepolymer having hydroxyl functional groups in admixture with the polyol and/or polythiol and, optionally, the compound containing both amine and hydroxyl functional groups; (3) mixing the intermediate product with additional polyisocyanates and optionally a urethanation catalyst to form a second reaction mixture; (4) introducing the second reaction mixture to a mold to form a thermoset polymerizate; and (5) releasing the polymerizate from the mold. Optical films and articles prepared by the method also are provided.

The golf ball has excellent flight performance and controllability acceptable to professionals and other skilled golfers, while also having excellent durability to cracking upon repeated impact and excellent scuff resistance.

摘要： A cellulosic inclusion-thermoplastic composition that includes cellulosic inclusions and a thermoplastic polyolefin that forms a matrix in which the cellulosic inclusions are dispersed. A maleated polymer and a polar thermoplastic polymer resin of a polyamide or polyester are provided to improve adhesion between the cellulosic inclusions and the thermoplastic polyolefin. The polar thermoplastic polymer resin is characterized by a melting temperature greater than that of the thermoplastic polyolefin. The composition as provided has increased break tensile strength relative to a composition devoid of the polar thermoplastic polymer resin but otherwise is unchanged. The break tensile is measured at 23° Celsius and at an elongation rate of 50 millimeters per minute.
