    • A mold for compression molding a resin article, which mold consists of male and female molds, wherein, at the time of complete mold closing, the length L in a mold closing direction of a mated part formed between the outermost wall of said male mold and the innermost wall of said female mold satisfies the equation: (t1−t0+10)mm≧L≧(t1−t0)mm wherein t1 is a distance (mm) between the male and female molds when the resin melt first reaches the mating outermost edge of the male mold, and t0 is a distance (mm) in the mold closing direction between the same points on the male and female molds as those used for measuring t1 when the mold closing is complete, and the horizontal distance of a mating gap between the outermost wall surface of said male mold and the innermost wall surface of said female mold is from 0.02 to 0.1 mm, with which mold, squeeze-out of a resin melt during molding is prevented.

    • There is provided a process for producing a multi-layer molded product having a plurality of thermoplastic resin layers. This process provides for (i) a step of supplying first and second molten thermoplastic resins each through first and second resin supplying gates which are temperature-controllable independently of each other, to between female and male molds kept in an open state with a time difference being provided between supply starts of the first and second resins, and (ii) a step of closing the female and male molds after completion of supply of the first and second resins. The process enables production of high-quality multi-layer molded products having a plurality of resin layers with good repeatability under relatively low resin supply pressure and by single mold closing. Further, high-quality multi-layer molded products can readily be produced without restrictions on materials used.

    • In a method for the preparation of crosslinked polyolefin foams by charging a polyolefin or its blend with other thermoplastic resins containing a crosslinking agent, foaming agent and if necessary a filler into the heated mold having a changeable cavity and, after decomposition of the crosslinking and foaming agents, retracting the moving-plate of the mold by a definite distance to increase the cavity and at the same time cooling the mold, an improvement for the preparation of the crosslinked polyolefin foams having excellent appearance and dimensional stability, comprising using a mold of which the moving-plate is constructed with a body and a sliding-piece, the body holding the piece slidably whereby the sliding-piece is left behind owing to sliding between the two even on rapid retraction of the body and then retracts at the rate corresponding to the foaming pressure of the resin, in other words, at a self-controllable rate and the mold for the preparation thereof. Furthermore an improvement using a mold of which the side-plate is constructed with a body and a piece which is freely attachable to or removable from the body, and the mold. And both the sliding-piece and the side-plate piece are exchangeable in order to change the mode of the molded products.
