    • A power steering device includes a steering shaft assembly, a driven member for operative connection with the steering road wheels for a vehicle and operatively connected with the steering shaft assembly, an hydraulic cylinder of actuating the driven member by fluid under pressure supplied thereto, an hydraulic circuit connecting the cylinder to a source of fluid pressure, and a switching valve having a valve member to be moved in response to rotation of the shaft assembly in an axial direction, the valve disposed within the hydraulic circuit to control the supply of fluid under pressure in response to axial movement of the valve being member. A cam mechanism is associated with the steering shaft assembly to conduct the axial movement of the valve member in response to rotation of the steering shaft assembly.

    • Disclosed is a fluid coupling which includes: a housing being used as a rotary driving member; a rotor rotatably mounted in the housing and being used as a driven member, a fluid pump having a pump chamber defined between the housing and the rotor; a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port; and a fluid circulation passage between the chamber and the housing, such that fluid in the pump circulates from the fluid circulation passage into the pump chamber through the inlet port and from the pump chamber through the outlet port into the fluid passage. The fluid coupling further includes: a fluid lock mechanism consisting of a cylinder bore provided in the housing such that the axis of the cylinder bore is in the radial direction of the coupling; a governor-weight sealingly and slidingly disposed in the cylinder bore; a spring for urging the governor-weight in the radially inward direction; a first opening provided at the radially inward portion of the cylinder bore, and; a second opening provided at the side wall portion of the cylinder bore. The first and second openings are provided in the fluid circulation passage which communicates the fluid inlet port with the fluid outlet port.

    • A process for manufacturing a spool valve whereby a plurality of quenching processed collars are fitted to a shaft material so that the collars are arranged at predetermined positions on the shaft material. The collars have respective substantially central holes through which the shaft material extends. The diameter of portions of the shaft material is contracted in a vicinity of both opposite ends of each of the collars by rolling dies so as to cause plastic flow of a metal constituting the shaft material. Pairs of circular convex portions are then formed on outer circumferential faces of the diameter contracted portions of the shaft material. The circular convex portions each have an outer diameter larger than an inner diameter of the substantially central holes of the collars, and the circular convex portions are formed such that side faces thereof are in close contact with respective associated circular concave portions formed at both ends of the collars in a vicinity of the substantially central holes of the collars, whereby the collars are fixed to the shaft material.

    • A spool valve includes a shaft having plural small diameter portions formed at intervals along the shaft on a circumferential surface of the shaft. The small diameter portions have linear outer surfaces extending substantially parallel to an axis of the shaft. A collar to be mounted to the shaft has a substantially central hole defining an inner diameter of the collar and through which the shaft is passable for mounting the collar to the shaft. The collar has a length shorter than a length of the small diameter portions of the shaft, and a linear inner surface extending substantially parallel to the axis of the shaft and the linear outer surfaces of the small diameter portions. A pair of circular convex portions are integrally formed on outer circumferential faces of a corresponding one of the small diameter portions. The pair of circular convex portions each have an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the collar which is to be mounted to the shaft, and are spaced apart from each other by a distance substantially corresponding to the length of the collar. The collar is arranged between the circular convex portions so that side faces of the circular convex portions are in close contact with opposite side surface portions of the collar in a vicinity of the substantially central hole of the collar.

    • The present invention proposes an intake heating device of an internal combustion engine. The intake heating device has a hollow heater vessel comprising an inner pipe and an outer pipe between which an enclosed area is defined. For heating the inner pipe, a plurality of PTC elements are disposed in said enclosed area. The protection of the PTC elements from water, oil and the like is accomplished by coupling the inner and outer pipes hermetically and by embedding the lead members for applying voltage to PTC elements integrally in the outer pipe wall when it is being cast. For maintaining the fundamental function of the PTC elements, at least one of the lead members embedded in the pipe wall is formed in a tubular shape along which a through hole can be provided for allowing a certain amount of air to flow into said enclosed area.
