    • A pressure plate arrangement (1) for a friction clutch of a motor vehicle is proposed, wherein an adjustment device (19), which automatically compensates for the wear of the friction linings (21), is disposed in the support path between a diaphragm spring (13) and a pressure plate (11), stressed against a flywheel (1) by the diaphragm spring (13) via friction linings (21) of a clutch disk (23). The adjustment device (19) has a pressure path compensating member (31), for example in the form of a radially resilient cone-shaped ring, which automatically compensates for possible play between the diaphragm spring (13) and the pressure plate (11). Distributed in the circumferential direction, a plurality of play transfer devices (37) is axially movably guided and arrested (for example by self-locking). The play transfer devices (37) rest against the flywheel (1) of the clutch housing (9) fixedly connected therewith and have levers (43) which limit the maximal wear compensation path of the compensating member (31). In this manner a wear compensation, which is independent of possible wear compensation mechanism of a hydraulic clutch disengagement system, takes place within the clutch. In addition, the diaphragm spring (13) of the proposed pressure plate arrangement retains its original position in relation to the flywheel (1) or the clutch housing (9), regardless of a possible wear compensation.

    • A system for engaging or disengaging a friction clutch has at least one drive, which drive is connected to an energy accumulator and is intended to move against the force of a spring mechanism of a friction clutch. The system can have at least one adjusting mechanism for the drive to compensate for the axial shift resulting from the change in position of the spring mechanism due to wear on the friction clutch. This adjusting mechanism can include an actuating mechanism connected to the transfer element. The actuating mechanism can be moved in the direction of motion of the drive, and can include a retaining mechanism which restricts the extension of the actuating mechanism by means of a stop. The retaining mechanism, by means of a retaining force, secures the orientation of the stroke of the actuating mechanism against an axial displacement until an axial shift occurs due to wear of the friction clutch. When there is wear to the friction clutch, a reduction in the force of the spring mechanism can result, which force acts against the actuation force applied by the energy accumulator, since the force of the spring mechanism is reduced, a resulting axial force arises which exceeds the magnitude of the retaining force and an adjustment for the wear can thus be made.

    • In a pulled-type clutch arrangement, for the release of the clutch, release levers are provided which are connected in their radially outer region with the clutch cover and in a radially middle region articulatedly with the thrust plate. On the abutment face facing the drive plate, in the region of the radially inner ends, the release levers lie against a release ring which is connectable with a traction force transmission part of a clutch release device. In some cases the clutch arrangement avoids the diaphragm springs usually used in pulled-type clutch arrangements, and nonetheless can be operated as pulled-type clutch. The main spring can be formed by a dished spring which is simpler in construction than a diaphragm spring and avoids disadvantages which arise with diaphragm springs for some purposes, especially in heavy-duty clutches. The dished springs can here be supported in a radially outer region on the clutch cover and can act in a radially inner region upon the thrust plate.
