    • A pneumato-mechanical regenerative power source converts mechanical rotational power at an input/output shaft to stored potential energy, and vice versa, by coupling the input/output shaft to a ball screw via a planetary gear system, which translates a ball nut in cooperation therewith, which in turn translates a piston that provides for either compressing or expanding an associated energy storage gas. A first roller-clutch mechanism provides for locking the carrier of the planetary gear system when storing energy, and releasing the carrier when releasing stored energy, wherein upon release, the ball screw is coupled to the input/output shaft via an one-wayoverrunning clutch, and the carrier may be locked to limit the release of stored energy.

    • A device for rotating body windage loss reduction, capable of rotating a rotating body at a high peripheral speed in an environment at atmospheric pressure or close to atmospheric pressure while reducing fluid resistance loss at a low cost by making use of the conventional bearing technology, is implemented, thereby enhancing efficiency of an energy storage device such as, for example, a flywheel, and so forth. The device is provided with a rotating body held rotatably; and a covering rotating body installed on the outer side of the rotating body so as to enclose the same, held rotatably and coaxially with the rotating body. Further, optional plural numbers of the covering rotating bodies installed coaxially with the rotating body and covering the outer side of the device for rotating body windage loss reduction are provided on top of each other in sequence. Still further, bearing means are provided between the rotating body and the covering rotating body adjacent thereto or between the covering rotating bodies adjacent to each other, and bearings for the respective covering rotating bodies are disposed in series in relation to bearings for the rotating body. In addition, by filling up the interior of a case with hydrogen gas or helium gas, lower in density than air, windage loss can be further reduced.

    • A mass accelerator and power converter unit is disclosed which utilizes centrifugal force generated by rotating masses which, when rotated within their respective cylindrical housings, exert pressure on the inner curved surfaces of the housings and roll thereon. The unit includes a wheel which interconnects each of the housings and which functions as a torque wheel to provide torque amplification. A drive mechanism, including a battery-operated electric motor causes the masses to rotate in synchronism within their associated housings. A driven mechanism including a ring gear mounted on the wheel is provided to facilitate the withdrawal of energy from the unit.
