    • A thermally conductive module for locally extracting heat from an individual electrical component of a circuit board installation comprises a tubular metal housing of high thermal conductivity closed at one end and having at that end a screw-threaded stud for securing the housing to and in thermal contact with a thermal conductor. A spring-loaded metal piston of high thermal conductivity is slidably mounted in the bore of and protrudes from the housing and has a throughbore extending through and opening into the exposed end face of the piston. A grease-like medium of high thermal conductivity is contained in the closed bore of the housing. When the housing is secured in thermal contact with a thermal conductor and the exposed end face of the piston is brought into thermal contact with an electrical component from which heat is to be extracted, the piston is urged against the action of its associated coil spring and grease-like medium exudes from the throughbore and flows between the exposed end face of the piston and the electrical component to provide an effective thermal contact therebetween.

    • According to some embodiments, methods for covalently or non-covalently conjugating an antibody (e.g., hu3S193 or other humanized antibody) or functional fragment thereof with an siRNA molecule (e.g., anti-STAT3 siRNA) is provided. Such methods may include (1) modifying an antibody or functional fragment thereof with a linker to provide a linker-modified antibody, combining a target siRNA with a disulfide containing aldehyde linker to provide a linker-modified target siRNA and combining the linker-modified target siRNA with linker-modified antibody to form an antibody-siRNA complex; or (2) modifying an antibody or functional fragment thereof with a (Arginine)9 peptide to form an antibody-9R complex and associating an siRNA molecule with the antibody-9R complex to form an electrostatic antibody-9R:siRNA complex. In another embodiment, an antibody-siRNA conjugate may be used in methods for suppressing or silencing STAT3 protein expression in a cancer cell.

    • Apparatuses for achieving high bit densities in a direct-sequence CDMA spread spectrum communication system are disclosed. A table of orthogonal pseudo-noise codes is stored. This table is then partitioned into multiple codebook. Then, the codebook is assigned to a user. The pseudo-noise code contained within the codebooks are used to spread information signal. Information signal for a first user is spread by a pseudo-noise code contained within the codebook assigned to the first user. Multiple bits of information signal may be sent at a time by using the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook such that the value of the information signal corresponds the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook. The information signal is then despread by using the same pseudo-noise code.
