    • A stabilizer arrangement for a motor vehicle has a stabilizer (1), which is connected to the vehicle chassis and which is connected to a spring-mounted wheel carrier part on each side of the vehicle by a piston-cylinder unit (4; 4′) each. Each of the piston-cylinder units (4, 4′) is formed of at least one piston (8, 8′) arranged movably in a cylinder (7, 7′), and each is connected in an articulated manner, at one end, to one end of the stabilizer (1) and, at the other end, to a spring-mounted wheel carrier part. The piston-cylinder units (4, 4′) are connected to a hydraulic pump (20). A stop (13, 13′), against which the respective piston (8, 8′) can be moved, is assigned to each of the cylinders (7, 7′). By an arrangement of valves, it is made possible for the pistons (8, 8′) to move out of each position in a purposeful manner against the stop (13, 13′) and to hold there in a defined position in order to restore the stabilizer action in a purposeful manner and effectively from any position of the vehicle.

A controllable adjusting device bias the two ball socket parts, relative to one another in the axial direction, so that pressure exerted on the joint ball by the twp ball socket parts can be varied. At least a first of the ball socket parts comprises a main body and at least one bearing section, which is elastically connected to the main body and by which the first ball socket part rests against the joint ball.

    • A stabilizer for a motor vehicle has a torsion bar divided into two shafts (1 and 2). The two shafts (1 and 2) are connected to one another via a mechanical coupling. The coupling has a locking disk, which is connected to a first of the two shafts (1), rotating with it in unison, and on the circumference of which at least one locking area is formed, and a housing (3), which is connected to the second shaft (2), rotating with it in unison. At least one locking mechanism (10), which is complementary to the locking area and engages the locking area in the coupled state of the coupling, is mounted movably on the housing (3). Furthermore, a spring (11), by which the locking mechanism (10) is pretensioned in the direction of the locking disk, is connected to the housing (3) and to the locking mechanism (10). For switching over between the coupled state and the uncoupled state of the coupling, a release means (6, 15) is provided, which is connected to the housing (3) and by which the locking mechanism (10) can be kept disengaged from the locking area in the uncoupled state against the force applied by the spring (11).
