    • In effecting resistance welding, fluid pressure is applied to a piston in a cylinder to drive the piston rod ahead so that work being welded is clamped between an electrode provided at the end of the rod and another electrode carried by an arm to apply a suitable welding pressure to the work. As the piston is further moved ahead, a collector ring is expanded radially outwardly to make electrical contact with the power feeding liner, so that welding current fed from a feeder cable is supplied to the electrode through the cylinder, feeding liner, collector ring, collector plate and the rod, thereby to effect the welding while applying a suitable pressure to the work.

    • The resistance welding machine of this invention has an arm carrying a movable electrode and provided with a supporting bore, a power receiving bushing fitted in the supporting bore, and a power feeding shaft mounted on the main body of the welding machine on which a second electrode, is also mounted. The power feeding shaft is received by the bore of the power receiving bush to support the arm while supplying electric power to the movable electrode. A plurality of grooves are formed in the inner peripheral surface of the power receiving bushing to receive powders generated as a result of local wear due to sliding contact between the power feeding shaft and the power receiving bushing. The grooves are filled with grease which adsorbs and holds the powders.

    • A waste disposal apparatus in which a container main body includes an introduction opening at a top wall portion of the container main body and a discharge opening at a bottom wall portion of the container main body. A cylindrical body having an exit portion is disposed within the container main body and is formed of an elastic material. An exit portion opening/closing device selectively holds the exit portion between a closed state, in which an exit portion of the cylindrical body is pressed and sealed, and an opened state, in which the exit portion of the cylindrical body is opened and the waste accumulated within the cylindrical body is discharged.
