    • Disclosed is a solenoid-operated valve which hardly brings a plunger into a lock and is capable of improving its responsivety. In the solenoid-operated valve, the plunger slidably guided in an inner bore formed in a yoke and a core aligned axially is moved by energizing an electromagnetic coil, and a spool in a valve section is moved through a rod portion which protrudes from an end of the plunger to pass through a center hole of the core. An electromagnetic section fluid chamber defined by a forward end surface of the plunger and the inner bore of the core communicates with an intermediate fluid chamber defined between the core and a valve sleeve, through a clearance between the center hole and rod portion. The spool is provided at one end thereof with a land portion whose end surface defines a part of the intermediate fluid chamber. The diameter of the land portion is chosen to be the same as the diameter of the plunger, so that the sum in volume of the electromagnetic section fluid chamber and the intermediate fluid chamber can be kept invariable regardless of movement of the plunger. A supply/drain passage is further provided to permit the oil around the solenoid-operated valve to be charged into the rear end fluid chamber or discharged therefrom upon movement of the plunger.

    • A flow controlling apparatus to control flow rate of working fluid discharged from pump apparatus to a power steering apparatus including a electric variable throttle, a solenoid mechanism and a spool. The solenoid mechanism varies opening degree of the electric variable throttle based on a electric signal from electric controller. The spool slides in accordance with the differential pressure of the variable throttle due to increase of flow rate of working fluid discharged from pump apparatus so as to return excess working fluid to bypass passage connecting to a suction port of pump apparatus. The flow controlling apparatus further comprising means for increase flow rate of bypass flow to bypass passage when rotating speed of the pump apparatus exceed predetermined value.

    • A power steering device is provided which is capable of detecting an initial torque of torque detection means precisely in a short period of time in the initial setting therefor. In detecting the initial torque of the torque detection means, assist power generating means such as an electric motor for applying assist power to a handle shaft is used to rotate a steering handle within a minute rotational range in positive and negative-going directions from a neutral position in the steering direction. The rotation of the steering handle in this initial setting is performed so that the amplitude of the repetitive rotations in the positive and negative-going directions are decremented as time passes. Then, an output of the torque detection means is detected as the initial torque with the steering handle being held stationarily at the neutral position. In another aspect of the present invention, a zero-point detection device for a torque sensor in a power steering device is provided having steerable wheel oscillating means which comprises turntables rotatable within a minute rotational range in positive and negative going directions and a turntable oscillating device for oscillating the turntables within the minute angular range in its steering direction by applying a drive power of a decremental pattern so that the amplitude of the oscillation is decreased gradually. Upon termination of the oscillation, an output of the torque detection means is detected as the initial torque with the steering handle being held stationarily at the neutral position.

    • An angle detection device that accurately detects a rotational angle even if the ratio of an detection voltage relative to an excitation voltage of a resolver fluctuates. The angle detection device includes an angle detector and a controller connected to the angle detector. The angle detector includes an excitation coil, which is arranged on a predetermined rotary shaft and supplied with excitation voltage, and a pair of detection coils. Each detection coil is arranged near the excitation coil to induce detection voltage when excitation voltage excites the excitation coil. The detection voltages of the detection coils have different phases. A controller calculates the rotational angle of the excitation coil with the detection voltages induced to the detection coils. Further, the controller includes a correction unit for correcting the amplitude of the excitation voltage to maintain each of the induced detection voltages at a predetermined value.
