摘要： A positive-displacement pump or turbine includes a rotor casing that defines a rotor chamber having a contoured wall that forms a plurality of lobes. A rotor is positioned within the rotor chamber, and has an outer rotor surface spaced inward from the contoured wall at the lobes. Vanes are mounted around the outer rotor surface, and structures associated with the vanes follow a track or groove defined by the rotor chamber as the rotor spins, thereby forcing the vanes radially inwardly and outwardly to follow a curvature of the contoured wall.

摘要： A rotary fluid device including an outer housing assembly and an inner rotating arrangement adapted to rotate relative to the outer housing assembly, the outer housing assembly including a rotor housing and the inner rotating arrangement including a rotor dimensioned to rotatably fit within the rotor housing. One of the rotor and the rotor housing include lobes extending in a radial direction relative to respective inner and outer circumferential surfaces and the other of the rotor and the rotor housing includes followers and follower recesses in which the followers are moveably located. In some examples, the follower recesses are adapted such that in at least the extended condition fluid pressure at underside facing surfaces of the followers toward the follower recesses are substantially hydrostatically balanced with a fluid pressure at opposing top facing surfaces of the followers substantially exposed to the chambers. In some examples, three pressure zones may be defined between the followers and follower recesses the three pressure zones including an intermediate pressure zone and two laterally pressure zones on opposing circumferentially lateral sides of the intermediate pressure zone.

The pump insert comprises a first housing part and a second housing part between which a rotor is rotatably arranged, and a stroke ring which surrounds the rotor and is arranged between the first housing part and the second housing part. A spring flexing along the rotational axis is arranged between the accommodating housing and the second housing part. The spring comprises a spring structure which is made of metal and which imbues the spring with its essential spring characteristics along the rotational axis. The spring is supported towards the second housing part in a region which is arranged in axial alignment with the stroke ring in the direction of the rotational axis, and thus presses the second housing part against the stroke ring.

摘要： The combined pump and energy recovery turbine includes at least one fluid flow pressurizing a sliding vane pump and a sliding vane energy recovery turbine that recovers energy from a second fluid flow, such as the brine discharge from an RO seawater desalination system. A cylindrical rotor has two sliding vanes in respective slots, the rotor being concentrically disposed within an oval-shaped enclosure defining two mirror image crescent-shaped chambers, each chamber having inlet and outlet passageways. The first chamber pressurizes the first fluid flow, and the second chamber functions as a second outflow-driven energy recovery turbine, thus enabling the single rotor device to operate as a pressurizing pump on the first fluid flow, and second outflow-driven energy recovery turbine recovering energy from the pressure drop in the second fluid flow.
