    • A vehicle-use brake device for miniaturization of a base body and the simplification of brake liquid pressure passages formed in the base body. First electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between master cylinders which output liquid pressures due to the operation of brake operators and wheel brakes, and second electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between a liquid-pressure generation member which are configured to generate liquid pressures due to operations of electrically-operated actuators and the wheel brakes are arranged in the base body. An output port which is connected to a wheel brake is formed in one flat side surface of a base body, first and second electromagnetic open/close valves which arrange operational axes thereof on a first plane orthogonal to one side surface are mounted on one surface of the base body which orthogonally intersects with one side surface from the same direction.

    • A wheel assembly for a vehicle includes a hub including a tubular body and a radial flange formed around an outer peripheral surface of the hub body and having opposite radial faces, and a separate rim including an annular body disposed coaxially with the hub body and a radial flange formed around an inner peripheral surface of the rim body and having opposite radial faces, the hub flange and the rim flange being mated together at their one radial faces and releasably fastened together by fastening means. A projection is provided on the hub flange and extends generally radially outwardly of that portion of the inner peripheral surface of the rim body disposed adjacent to the other radial face of the rim flange. The distance between a radial outer end of the projection means and the one radial face of the hub flange is less than the distance between the other radial face of the rim flange and an axial outer end of said that portion remote from the other radial face of the rim flange, thereby preventing the rim for being fastened to the hub reversely.

    • A hydraulic modulator includes a cylinder for slidably supporting a power piston and changing the volume of a hydraulic chamber communicating with brake calipers according to the sliding of the power piston, and an electric motor for sliding the power piston through a power transmitting mechanism. The cylinder extends parallel to a rotating shaft, and a rotational motion of the electric motor is converted into a linear motion on an axis parallel to the rotating shaft. The power transmitting mechanism is provided by a ball screw mechanism composed of a ball screw nut, balls, and a ball screw shaft for converting the rotational motion of the electric motor into the linear motion of the push slider. The push slider has a head portion coming into spherical contact with the power piston. The hydraulic modulator so configured has a small size, and an improved arrangement of components.
