In a preferred embodiment, a slot is provided in a support member so the lance can be engaged by a lance driver and driven into the skin producing a bodily fluid sample from a wound. The sensing area of the sensing strip is adjacent to the wound location reducing dexterity requirements for patients.

The container maintains appropriate environmental conditions, such as humidity, for storing the test strips. The container has a plurality of radially extending slots formed by a plurality of dividing walls, and each slot is sized to receive a single test strip. A rotatably positionable cover is carried by the container for covering the plurality of radially extending slots. The cover includes an opening, which, when the cover rotates, aligns with one of the slots at a time to allow removal of a single test strip located within the respective slot. Accordingly, the unused test strips remain free of contaminants such as naturally occurring skin oils on a user's hand.

摘要： A pen needle having a cylindrical hub including a distal section that is received in a needle holder and a proximal section having threads that mate with a pair of lugs in an adaptor mounted on a medication delivery pen. The distal end of the pen needle includes a plurality of splines that mate with splines in the needle holder to prevent the pen needle from rotating within the needle holder and aid in threading the pen needle onto the adaptor. The pen needle is fully received in the needle holder to shield the proximal point of the pen needle and can only be removed from the needle holder by using the adaptor or a cartridge retainer having the proper pair of lugs thereon.

摘要： A pen needle magazine dispenser designed to be received and carried in a cap of a medication delivery pen. The dispenser having a cover rotatably mounted on a circular shaped container with a plurality of cavities, wherein each cavity is dimensioned to receive one pen needle. The pen needle being of a type that is forced fit into an adaptor on the pen using threads on the pen needle and corresponding threads in the cavity. The cover includes a slot that is rotated into alignment with one of the cavities in the container to provide the user with access to one unused pen needle and thereby permit the pen needle to be mounted on the pen. After use the used pen needle is returned to the cavity and the cover is rotated until the slot is aligned with another cavity containing the next unused pen needle to be used during the next injection.

摘要： An injectable substance delivery device comprising a pen device body, a cartridge, a plunger, a drive mechanism, and at least one of a lock-out mechanism and a rate-limiting mechanism. The lock-out mechanism is provided through a ratchet engagement between the body and the plunger to restrict plunger movement and to ensure that the required needle puncture depth is realized prior to injection by locking out the injection mechanism from advancing until a specified force is applied to the skin. A rate-limiting mechanism is also provided through a user compressed plunger drive spring to ensure that a specific rate of injection is realized during the injection of a medicament.
