摘要： There is provided a domain wall displacement type magneto-optical recording medium and a recording method that allow signals recorded with a high density over the limit of resolution of optical systems to be regenerated without increasing complexity of a recording and regenerating apparatus or narrowing an operation margin even if a substrate having address information or the like incorporated therein is used. An information track has portions used for recording and regenerating information in the form of a magneto-optical signal and portions having irregularities to provide address information or servo information formed therein alternately arranged, and directions of magnetization of the third magnetic layer are polarized in one direction above the portions having the irregularities.

摘要： A PLL circuit includes a wobbling detector for detecting a wobbling signal based on reflection light of an optical disk having a wobbled track, and a VCO that an oscillation frequency of its output varies according to its input. The PLL circuit controls the VCO based on a phase error between the output of the wobbling signal and the output of the VCO. In the PLL circuit, the phase error is detected by executing an arithmetic operation to the delta-sigma modulated wobbling signal at a predetermined clock and the output of the VCO.

摘要： A method for setting an information reader to a target information recorded position on an information recording medium in an information reproducing apparatus includes steps of reading a start position from the medium by the reader, which contacts the medium, separating the reader from the medium after reading the current position, driving the medium after separating the reader from the medium, successively estimating a current read position based on the start position and a driving motion during the driving step, checking whether the estimated current read position matches a target position, contacting the reader with the medium and reading position information when the estimated current read position matches the target position, comparing the position represented by the read position information with the target position and driving the medium, contacting the reader, while reading the position information when a mismatch is detected, and comparing the position represented by the newly read position information with the target position and continuing to drive the medium until a match is detected by the comparison.
