摘要： The invention relates to a record carrier of a disc-like optically inscribable type, having a preformed track in which an auxiliarily signal comprising a sequence of codes is recorded by means of a preformed track modulation. The codes comprise a sequence of address codes (AC) specifying the addresses of the track portions in which said address codes (AC) are recorded and special codes (SC). The special codes (SC) can be distinguished from said address codes (AC) and specify control data for controlling a recording by a recording device. The sequence can be obtained by replacing in a sequence of address codes (AC) with consecutive address values a plurality of said address by special codes (SC). The periodic pattern of address codes and special codes has a predetermined positional relationship with respect to a predetermined reference address. Such as for example a positional shift with respect to the start of a Lead-in area. The presence and or amount of such a shift may be used to represent additional control information or indicate the presence of area on a disc provided with such additional control information.

摘要： A record carrier (1) has a servo track (4) indicating an information track (9) intended for recording information blocks. The servo track (4) has a periodic variation of a physical parameter at a predetermined frequency, usually called wobble. The servo track has modulated parts for encoding position information according to a predetermined type of modulation. The record carrier includes a management area in which the servo track includes permanent data. The permanent data is encoded using a different type of modulation, but using the variations of the same physical parameter. Direct digital modulation (41) is proposed for the different type of modulation.

摘要： There is provided an optical disc having preformed thereon a spiral wobbled track as a grove and/or land along with data is to be recorded. The track is wobbled for a series of predetermined signal units each composed of an FSK information bit part based on a waveform resulted from FSK modulation of information bit and a singe-frequency part based on a waveform of a single frequency. The FSK modulation uses two different frequencies of which the one is the same as the single frequency and the other is different from the single frequency. These different frequencies are in such a relation that each of them has an even number of wobbles and an odd number of wobbles alternately in a predetermined cycle.

摘要： An automated capability is provided in which an offset correction is automatically determined and routinely updated in order to reduce or otherwise eliminate data retrieval errors that may be caused by low level distortion in optical disc data storage recording, re-recording and retrieval system. The capability is implemented through an improved offset control loop for reading information from a modulated wobble signal with which the data is recorded to an optical disc data storage medium to provide detection of an offset and correction of that offset to facilitate implementation of precise timing synchronization and/or encoded information contact in the system. The offset detector measures a wobble signal and mathematically converts detected information regarding the measured wobble signal to an offset correction by integrating the wobble signal over a specific time interval and comparing the integrated value to an expected integrated value. The integration may be performed over at least one period of the sinusoidal wobble signal, and the correction added to the wobble signal.

摘要： A PLL circuit includes a wobbling detector for detecting a wobbling signal based on reflection light of an optical disk having a wobbled track, and a VCO that an oscillation frequency of its output varies according to its input. The PLL circuit controls the VCO based on a phase error between the output of the wobbling signal and the output of the VCO. In the PLL circuit, the phase error is detected by executing an arithmetic operation to the delta-sigma modulated wobbling signal at a predetermined clock and the output of the VCO.
