摘要： A particulate composition useful in the softening of fabrics from a wash liquor, especially in the form of a fabric washing product, comprises a fabric softening clay in intimate contact with a nonionic surfactant system which has a cloud point below 80.degree. C. The clay/nonionic weight ratio is from 2:3 to 20:1. A typical nonionic surfactant is a fatty alcohol with a low degree of ethoxylation, such as a C.sub.13-15 alcohol with 3 ethylene oxide groups per molecule.

C. and 60.degree. C. followed by allowing the product to remain undisturbed for up to ten days at temperatures between 4.degree. C. and 60.degree. C. when the plasticizer will have been absorbed into the interior of the vinyl product as evidenced by the surface of the product exhibiting reduced resiliency, and feeling dry and non tacky to the touch.

摘要： A method of providing a composite sheet material which has soft and pliable hand characteristics, despite being dense, and also high resistance against discoloration and deterioration. The method comprises impregnating and/or coating a fibrous sheet with a mixture of (A) a polyurethane elastomer containing a sterically hindered amino group within its molecular chain, (B) a compound selected from the group consisting of a polybasic acid and its halide, metal salt and ammonium salt, wherein one or more hydrogen atoms remain unreacted, which amount of (B) is within the range of 0.8-5 molar equivalents relative to the sterically hindered amino group, and (C) a solvent for the polyurethane elastomer (A), and subjecting the resulting material to wet coagulation.

摘要： A reaction between pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) and less than two moles of fluoroalcohol produces an intermediate with ester, free acid and anhydride groups. Reaction with an oxirane compound such as epichlorohydrin reacts at the acid sites to produce pendant hydroxyls which react with anhydride on adjacent molecules to produce oligomers. Products with fluoroalcohol:PMDA ratios of, for example, about 1:0.6 to about 1:0.85 produce treated fibers with improved retention of oil repellancy, especially when annealed at 100.degree.-130.degree. C.
