摘要： The present invention relates to polymeric plasticizer compositions made from an aromatic acid source, a glycol, and a C4-C36 monocarboxylic acid, or ester or anhydride thereof. The aromatic acid source can include polymeric materials such as recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The present invention also relates to methods for making the polymeric plasticizer compositions, to methods of plasticizing polymeric materials, and to plasticized polymeric compositions. The polymeric plasticizers are useful for plasticizing various polymers, such as thermoplastic polymers, including, for example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The polymeric plasticizers provide a sustainable alternative to conventional phthalate ester plasticizers, such as diisooctyl phthalate (DOP).

摘要： Combinations of gelatinous elastomer and polyurethane foam may be made by introducing a plasticized A-B-A triblock copolymer resin and/or an A-B diblock copolymer resin into a mixture of polyurethane foam forming components including a polyol and an isocyanate. The plasticized copolymer resin is polymerized to form the gelatinous elastomer in-situ while simultaneously polymerizing the polyol and the isocyanate to form polyurethane foam. The polyurethane reaction is exothermic and can generate sufficient temperature to melt the styrene-portion of the A-B-A triblock copolymer resin thereby extending the crosslinking and in some cases integrating the A-B-A triblock copolymer within the polyurethane polymer matrix. The combination has a marbled appearance. The gel component has higher heat capacity than polyurethane foam and thus has good thermal conductivity and acts as a heat sink. Another advantage of in situ gel-foam is that the gel component provides higher support factors compared to the base foam alone.

摘要： Hydrocarbon streams, such as crude oil streams, may have reduced drag when an effective amount to reduce drag of a drag reducing composition is added to a liquid hydrocarbon, where the drag reducing composition includes a drag reducing latex comprising at least one plasticizer in an amount effective to improve the ability to pump the latex into a hydrocarbon composition or stream with assured flow of the latex. Latex formulations are known to cause agglomerated particles during pumping operations, and the agglomerated hard particles tend to plug check valves in injection pump equipment, but the inclusion of at least one plasticizer reduces or prevents such problems.

摘要： The extrusion of polymer compositions based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and in particular to a method in which polymer compositions are produced that have an elongation at break of at least 200%, a tensile strength of at least 10 N/mm2 with a specific energy input SEI of 0.03 to 0.20 kWh/kg and in particular 0.04 to 0.16 kWh/kg. The method is expediently carried out such that a plasticiser is added in a plurality of portions to the non-composed polyvinyl chloride and mixed into said polyvinyl chloride. The method thereby offers a fast and simple possibility of producing products from finished soft PVC, the production of said products requiring only a single processing device in the form of an extruder.

The subject phase invertible compositions are prepared by combining a crosslinker and a proteinaceous substrate. The proteinaceous substrate includes one or more proteins and a polyamine, where the polyamine and a proteinaceous substrate are present in synergistic viscosity enhancing amounts, and may also include one or more of: a carbohydrate, a tackifying agent, a plasticizer, or other modification agent. In certain embodiments, the crosslinker is a heat-treated dialdehyde, e.g., heat-treated glutaraldehyde. Also provided are kits for use in preparing the subject compositions. The subject compositions, kits and systems find use in a variety of different applications.

摘要： A process for preparing densified cellulose ester pellets with reduced clumping or taking comprises mixing a cellulose ester flake or powder and plasticizer to form a blend and directing the blend to a pellet mill. The densified pellets retain the mechanical properties of the cellulose ester flake or powder. An additive may be introduced to the blend or to the pellet mill to reduce downstream compounding steps. The pellets may be stored without clumping, thus reducing processing steps and increasing yield.
