摘要： This invention provides compositions suitable for treating fibrous substrates to render them durably resistant to dry soil and durably repellent to water and oil. One composition is an aqueous emulsion comprising: a dry soil resistant and water and oil repellent fluorochemical treatment and an effective amount of one or more fluorochemical surfactants wherein the surfactants comprising one or two fluorochemical groups and one or two water-solubilizing polar groups. Another composition is an aqueous emulsion comprising: a dry soil resistant and water and oil repellent fluorochemical treatment; an effective amount of one or more fluorochemical surfactants wherein the surfactants comprising one or two fluorochemical groups and one or two water-solubilizing polar groups; and one or more non-fluorinated additives. A third composition is an aqueous emulsion comprising: a dry soil resistant and water and oil repellent fluorochemical treatment comprising one or more fluorine-free extender compounds, and an effective amount of one or more fluorochemical surfactants wherein the surfactants comprising one or two fluorochemical groups and one or two water-solubilizing polar groups.

摘要： Antistatic agents and their use in processing textiles or formed plastic substrates. The antistatic agent comprises a compound having a fluorocarbon moiety and an ethoxylated quaternary ammonium moiety. The antistatic composition increases the electrolytic conductivity of treated textile or plastic materials, thereby increasing the rate of electrostatic charge dissipation thereof. The antistatic agents remain effective after exposure of the treated substrate to an aqueous environment.

摘要： An aqueous dispersion of carpet protector is provided with an additional ingredient which converts it to a carpet cleaner. The aqueous dispersion preferably contains a nonfluorinated vinyl polymer and a perfluoroalkyl ester of carboxylic acid. The additional ingredient is hydrogen peroxide or carbonated water. The mixture is applied to carpet and buffed to cause foaming and loosen soil. A pad in the buffer removes soil. After drying, a soil repellent coating remains on the fibers.

The water-repellent woven or knitted article of the present invention is a woven or knitted article subjected to a water repellent treatment using a water repellent having a perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) concentration of 5 ng/g or less, wherein the woven or knitted article includes, as constituent fibers, fibers having a transverse cross-sectional shape, each fiber has a plurality of grooves at an outer circumference of the transverse cross section, each groove has a wide part, and a size of the grooves in the fibers satisfies the following Formulae (Formula 1) and (Formula 2): w2/w1≥1.3 (Formula 1) 0.15≤h/d≤0.25 (Formula 2) where w1 represents a groove entrance width, w2 represents a groove wide part width, h represents a groove depth, and d represents a diameter of the fiber, a droplet contact angle between the woven or knitted article and water is 135° or more after 20 times of washing in accordance with a method of JIS L 0217 103 and a water repellency is grade 4 or more in accordance with a spray method of JIS L 1092.

摘要： A process for the production of oligomeric mixtures useful as surfactants is disclosed. The initial step of the process comprises reacting pyromellitic dianhydride with a fluoroalcohol using a mole ratio of about one mole pyromellitic dianhydride per two moles of fluoroalcohol to produce an intermediate which contains two fluorinated ester moieties and two free acid moieties. Thereafter, the intermediate diester-diacid is reacted with an excess of an oxirane compound such as epichlorohydrin, epibromohydrin or propylene oxide wherein said oxirane compound reacts with the free acid moieties to produce ester moieties containing a primary or secondary alcohol moiety. In the final step of the process, additional pyromellitic dianhydride is added to the reaction mixture so that the alcohol moieties may react with anhydride moieties to produce ester linking groups (between pyromellitate nuclei) and additional free acid moieties capable of reacting with the oxirane compound.
