摘要： The present invention relates to an imaging device (1) comprising: a first microwave sensor or set of microwave sensors (2), preferably radiometric sensors, each microwave sensor (2) being configured to pick up electromagnetic radiation emitted or reflected by bodies or objects situated in a detection zone of said microwave sensor (2); and reflector means (6) configured to reflect the electromagnetic radiation that can be picked up by the first microwave sensor or the set of microwave sensors (2). In particular, the reflector means (6) are mounted to move in the detection zone of each microwave sensor (2) in such a manner as to move said detection zone by moving the reflector means (6). The invention also provides a corresponding microwave imaging method.

The antenna includes a linkage configured to adjust the separation distance based at least in part on the altitude of the antenna. The resulting radiation pattern can be dynamically adjusted based on altitude of the antenna such that, while the antenna is aloft and the antenna is ground-facing, variations in geographic boundaries and intensity of the radiation received at ground level are at least partially compensated for by the dynamic adjustments to the radiation pattern.

摘要： A rotating mirror drum radiometer imaging apparatus. The apparatus generally comprises a two-sided mirror, a drum for securely supporting the two-sided mirror therein at an angle of preferably about 45 degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of symmetry extending through the drum, support walls for supporting the drum for rotational movement, and a motor and drive wheel for rotationally driving the drum. In one embodiment the drum includes first and second cut-outs in a side surface thereof. The cut-outs are further spaced preferably about 180 degrees from each other about the longitudinal axis of symmetry and enable a transmitted signal to be alternately received therethrough by first and second sides of the two-sided mirror as the drum and mirror are concurrently rotated by the motor and drive wheel. A first antenna is disposed adjacent a first end of the drum and a second antenna is disposed adjacent a second end of the drum. The first and second antennas, either dish antennas or an imaging array, alternately receive the signal as the signal is alternately reflected from the first and second sides of the mirror as the mirror is driven rotationally. Thus, both sides of the mirror are used to thereby effectively double the number of image scans obtainable for any given rotation rate of the mirror. The apparatus is particularly effective for high altitude imaging applications where the speed of an airborne platform may be quite high, thus necessitating a correspondingly high mirror rotation rate. The increased rotation rate of the mirror provided by the apparatus further allows higher refresh rates compared to heretofore designed scanning antenna systems.

The hinges extend from the other end of the arm and spaced apart from each other, and the boss extends from the other end of the frame and is interposed between the hinges. The shaft is fitted through one hinge and into the boss and the other hinge. The parabolic antenna is further provided with at least one ball stopper having a ball and a spring. The ball stopper is inserted in a blind hole formed on an inner surface of each hinge, and the spring presses the ball against the boss so that the ball is fitted into one of the recesses, thereby holding the arm and the frame at a desired angle.
