    • Apparatus for improving the performance and allowing increased directionality of reflecting-type antenna systems by varying the geometry of the reflecting surface. A reflecting surface is composed of an array of actuated pins which are capable of extending or retracting to alter the overall pattern. An actuator controlling unit has the address of each actuator and is able to extend or retract the pins to the desired degree. The specific pattern which the actuator control unit realizes is determined by the iterative position calculator which utilizes directional inputs from the user and/or inputs from a system which determines the effectiveness of previous pin movements. The apparatus attempts to maximize the received signal by assessing amplitude changes over time and utilizing that information to direct alteration in the reflecting surface for optimal performance.

    • A multiband receiver comprising an integrated diversity antenna system is operable to receive satellite and terrestrial television. The multiband receiver captures spectrum comprising satellite television channels and/or terrestrial television channels and demodulate the satellite television channels and/or the terrestrial television channels. The diversity antenna system is integrated on a board or substrate within the multiband receiver. The multiband receiver discriminates between satellite television signals and non-satellite television signals in the captured spectrum and also discriminates between the terrestrial television signals and non-terrestrial television signals in the captured spectrum. The multiband receiver generates output satellite television channel content from the demodulated satellite television channels and also generates output terrestrial television channel content from the demodulated terrestrial television channels. The multiband receiver packetizes the generated output satellite and/or terrestrial television channel content. The generated output satellite and/or terrestrial television channel content is communicated to one or more mobile communication devices.

    • An assembly comprises a clamping mechanism and an LNB (low noise block down converter). The clamping mechanism includes a first clamping part, a second clamping part, and a plurality of rectangular grooves. The LNB includes a shell, at least one flexible portion, and at least one rib portion. The first clamping part and the second clamping part clasp around the LNB, and are combined with each other by at least one fastening part. The at least one flexible portion is disposed on the shell of the LNB, and the rib portion is on the flexible portion. The plurality of rectangular grooves are closely arranged in parallel on the inner surface of the second clamping part, and the rib portion is contained in one of the rectangular grooves. By rotating the combination of the first clamping part and the second clamping part, the rib portion is forced to move between the rectangular grooves and then is positioned again. During the movement, the flexible portion is temporarily deformed.
