摘要： An antenna array assembly comprises a ground plate, an array of radiator elements disposed in a spaced relationship with a first face of the ground plate between first and second substantially parallel conductive walls projecting from the first face of the ground plate, and a first and second conductive plate. Each of the first and second conductive plates is electrically isolated from the ground plate, and each is disposed in an upstanding relationship to the first face of the ground plate in a substantially parallel relationship with the first and second conductive walls. This provides reduced radiation in at least one direction in the hemisphere on the opposite side of the ground plate to the first face.

摘要： Systems and devices relating to dipole antennas. The beamwidth of a crossed dipole antenna is widened by providing a parasitic monopole antenna adjacent to the crossed dipole antenna. In one configuration, each arm of the crossed dipole antenna has, adjacent to it, a parasitic monopole antenna. In another configuration, the crossed dipole antenna is surrounded by a number of other crossed dipole antennas acting as parasitic monopole antenna elements. The center or primary crossed dipole antenna can be for low band signals while the secondary crossed dipole antennas are for high band signals.

In one embodiment, a satellite comprising a payload configured for transmitting data is provided. The payload may include various components of the satellite, such as the attitude control system, electrical power system, and/or communication system. The satellite may be configured to communicate with one or more ground stations. The satellite includes a support structure comprising at least one deployable panel, wherein the support structure houses the payload. The satellite also includes at least one antenna coupled to the support structure, wherein the deployable panel is configured to cover the antenna in a non-deployed state and to expose the antenna in a deployed state.

摘要： An antenna method and apparatus for a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader includes an RFID reader, a plurality of radio ports of the RFID reader, and a plurality of linearly polarized antenna elements coupled to the radio ports, wherein the RFID reader directs the radio ports to sequentially communicatively connect only one antenna element at a time to the RFID reader such that only one antenna element is operable to transmit/receive at any instant in time. The antenna elements are mounted in an alternating vertically polarized and horizontally polarized configuration.

A first radio is operable to cause a first antenna to radiate electromagnetic energy in a first frequency range and a first reflector chamber is operable to reflect the electromagnetic energy in a first direction away from the housing. Second, third, and fourth radios are operable to cause the respective antennas within the respective reflective chambers to radiate electromagnetic energy and the respective reflective chamber is to reflect the electromagnetic energy in a respective direction away from the housing.
