    • A transponder system is presented, comprising first and second antenna arrays each comprising a plurality of antenna elements arranged in a predetermined geometry. The antenna elements of the first antenna array are respectively interconnected with corresponding antenna elements of the second antenna array by respective connection lines thereby forming plurality of receiving-transmitting pairs of antenna elements. A receiving-transmitting pair is configured to receive an input electro-magnetic signal by one antenna element thereof and transmit a corresponding output signal by the other antenna element, thereby enabling collective collection of a signal waveform and transmission of a corresponding output signal waveform. The first and second antenna arrays are rotatable with respect to one another about at least one predetermined rotation axis, thereby enabling variation of direction of propagation of the output signal waveform with respect to direction of propagation of the collected signal waveform.

    • A radar antenna arrangement, in particular for motor vehicles, is presented, having of a longitudinal waveguide, into which electromagnetic waves are coupled in such a manner that they expand in the longitudinal direction (X) of the waveguide, and an interference structure (12) with a plurality of metallic sections, whereby the interference structure in proximity to the waveguide, at a distance from the waveguide in a first transverse direction (Y) to the waveguide, is arranged at least approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction (X) of the waveguide, so that the interference structure effects an adjusted radiation of the radar waves. The waveguide comprises in the longitudinal direction two metallic surfaces (31, 41) and between these, a dielectric medium (32, 42), whereby the surfaces (31, 41) run in a second transverse direction (Z), which stands both vertically to the first transverse direction (Y) and to the longitudinal direction (X) of the waveguide. Preferably, the interference structure (12) is designed as a rotatable drum with metallic sections which are changed on the circumference and a reflector arrangement is provided for bundling and polarising the waves.

    • Estimation of a desired antenna tracking profile is provided for a radio frequency autotracked (RFAT) antenna in the absence of a ground reference. A first RFAT antenna subsystem has a first antenna and a first antenna positioning mechanism (APM), each mounted on a vehicle, and a first ground-based RF beacon; a second RFAT antenna subsystem has a second antenna and a second APM, each mounted on the vehicle, and a second ground-based RF beacon. A controller stores an accumulated record of actuations of the second APM as a function of time under normal operation, calculates a desired antenna tracking profile for the second antenna, from a first ground-based RF beacon and from the accumulated record, excluding any real-time data from the second ground-based RF beacon, and transmits actuation commands to the second APM so as to cause the second antenna to track the desired antenna tracking profile.
