    • A hub for a clutch having a bore and an apparatus for connecting the bore of the hub to a shaft end having a threaded axial hole and disconnecting the hub from the shaft, the improvement in the apparatus for connection and disconnection of the hub from the shaft including the hub having a stop shoulder formed in the bore and a bolt having a recess in the head thereof together with a mounting washer positioned against the stop shoulder. A bolt is positioned through the washer with the head of the bolt in rotational contact with the mounting washer. A containment ring is secured to the mounting washer to prevent displacement of the bolt head from the mounting washer. A bolt containment ring is secured in the bore of the hub adjacent the containment ring to prevent displacement of the bolt, mounting washer and containment ring from the bore whereby the bolt may be engaged with the threaded hole of the shaft to thereby removeably mount the hub on the shaft end.

    • The invention relates to a clamping arrangement to connect a hub with an inner structural part, in particular a shaft, including at least one outer taper ring having an inner conical surface tapered at a self-returning angle. The tapered ring cooperating with a tapered outer circumferential surface of a tub. Axially acting lock bolts, tension the tapered ring against the hub locking the assembly to the shaft. Wedge segments, distributed circumferentially and arranged axially between the taper ring and a counter-support on the hub, are provided. The wedges are displaced radially by means of radial release bolts and pressure the tapered ring axially off the conical surface of one hub releasing the same from the shaft.

    • A tapered bushing and hub assembly for mounting on shafts sheaves, gears, sprockets, couplings and similar machine elements, in which a tapered, split bushing is inserted in a tapered bore in the machine element and a plurality of lugs secured by screws onto the hub force the bushing inwardly into the tapered bore, seating the bushing into face-to-face contact with the tapered surface of the hub and contracting the bushing firmly onto the shaft. Holes for the screws are provided in the hub and are arranged parallel with the axis of the bore, and preferably extend through the hub. Each lug bears against the side of the hub and the large end of the bushing as the screws are tightened into their respective holes. When the machine element is to be removed from the shaft, a lug may be secured by the screws on the opposite side of the hub to force the bushing outwardly from the tapered bore.

    • A simple but effective valve assembly is disclosed wherein a valve stem retaining spring clip is mounted within a valve stem removal aperture in the valve handle to prevent inadvertent disassembly of the valve handle from the valve stem. The valve assembly of the present invention includes a valve body having a fluid entrance and a fluid exit; a valve plug longitudinally movable within the valve body and disposed, in a valve closed position, against a valve seat to prevent fluid from entering said valve body; a valve stem disposed longitudinally through the valve body connecting the valve plug to a valve handle assembly; a valve body neck portion for securing the valve handle assembly to the valve body and a valve handle assembly including a valve stem retaining notch and an adjoining valve stem receiving aperture larger than the diameter of a handle connecting portion of the valve stem. The valve handle assembly includes a retention spring disposed within the valve stem receiving aperture so that the handle connecting valve stem portion cannot fit through the aperture freely until sufficient force is applied to the retention spring to force the retention spring radially outwardly from the valve stem receiving aperture.

    • A coupling unit for coupling a shaft to a surrounding hub has an inner ring which surrounds the shaft and is in turn surrounded by an outer ring. The juxtaposed surfaces of the two rings define with one another two wedge-shaped annular gaps which taper towards each other axially of the rings. Tension members are inserted into these gaps and both extend through the tension members so as to draw them axially together in order to force the rings against the shaft and the hub, respectively. An abutment ring is located between the inner and outer rings and has circumferentially spaced bores some of which are smooth and some of which are tapped. By cooperation of the bolts and the abutment ring the tension members can be forced out of the respective gaps when the connection between shaft and hub is to be released.
